This is not so much a review of the cafe but the customers that frequent this cafe. I was sitting at the cafe This morning and there was a couple, a gentleman with glasses and his extremely large female companion sitting at the front of the cafe in full view of the street, being absolutely rude to people trying to park across the road. they drove a white corolla with pink license plate ROX 337 and told off two separate cars for trying to park in the spot behind their cars. One couple were trying to have a conversation with their friends they just ran into and the guy rudely interrupted them to move their car when there was almost a meter between the cars. pull your head in mate that was completely unwarranted and selfish and what loser takes the time out from their meal to tell people off for no reason? and he then moved his precious car again away from the couples car. I'm sure it made you feel really big and important to be rude and ruin people's day and I bet you didn't even say thank you to them for moving their car. Unsurprisingly their friends walked away given the time taken for them to move the car. Everyone has issues mate don't take your own massive issues out on people. To the cafe I would strongly recommend refusing this couple patronage next time they show their faces, a reception im sure they are quite used to. I would not want this couple reperesenting the customers that come to my cafe. Just stay indoors and let the rest of society live in peace...
Read moreIt’s a cozy cafe in Waterloo, with bright aspects. Their food was good, although we didn’t order anything fancy, halloumi and chickpea wrap and steak sandwich was excellent. Nothing overpowering, just enough amount of sauce and ingredients to taste fresh ingredients well. The menu had good selection of cooked food, wraps and burgers, nothing fancy but humble, which we liked. Their milkshake was one of the best, my husband said - in the original old style tin cup, great in size and enough chocolate flavour - is apparently his standard of good chocolate milkshake lol. We ordered Nutella cookie and scones as well - the cookie was gigantic and very yummy! The service was great. At first I thought it was interesting that a female staff served us initially wasn’t looking happy to be there but things changed when the other person appeared. He is happy and chatty, make us feeling welcomed. The atmosphere is good, it’s located right around an intersection and you can face the street to see the world goes by from outside or inside sitting area. The decoration and tables etc looks cozy and homy. Glad I tried there and perhaps...
Read moreBEWARE!!!! Worst in Waterloo!! Having worked in Danks St for 7 years I consider myself an expert on the local coffee and cuisine of Waterloo. Wah Wah Lounge should be the last place you try....and only then if you are moments away from death by starvation!! (After you eat there you probably will wish you had just died instead!) Service is atrocious... useless staff doing useless things masked with an insincere mocking smile. Coffee thats on par with the worst blend 44 camping trip brew! Assuming you get one hot enough to drink! Food that is so mediocre you would be better off foraging in the garbage bin outside for a more appealing offering! When spoilt for choice on Danks Street....you would be unlucky to select this as your coffee or dining destination. I strongly suggest walking another few meters to Fourth Village or Sonoma...better coffee food and service available at any other Danks Street cafe!! Sorry Wah Wah....massive fail!!! Maybe this placed is named for the sound their customers make as they leave! In tears for the time and money they wasted in this...
