This place is a prime example of how NOT to run a fast food joint. Its never all that busy in there, and after my recent experience, I know why.
I order chicken'n'chips from these kinds of places, as I'm not really a fan of chicken on burgers. And here? It wasn't excellent (red rooster is better) but it wasn't altogether bad either.
The issues here arise in the service department, and the atmosphere of the store. As soon as you walk in you can feel the oppression if you're at all sensitive to it. It FEELS like every single cent counts, much more than what's normal in a fast food joint.
While my order was being taken, the young lady that served me shilled their loyalty program once (fair) but then pushed twice for "feedback". I doubt this is her fault. I think the management (particularly the UPPER management) of this store is obsessed with their Google reviews.
Word of advice here: Let the reviews sort themselves out. Focus on the customer experience, because its just not there in this store.
When I received my food, the manager (I believe his name was "Jason") asked me if I needed cutlery/napkin. Considering these packs cost between 25 and 50 cents when bought in the kind of bulk these stores buy them in, that was a bit of an ask.
I replied with "I've ordered a chicken and chips, of course I need cutlery. Why would you even ASK a question like that? Don't you guys just put it in there like EVERYONE ELSE does?"
SO, UPPER MANAGEMENT: Stop worrying about your reviews, stop pinching pennies, concentrate on the customer experience. If you're not making money, its because people are sick of having to WALK BACK IN and ask for napkins. They're going to Maccas across the road instead, where they don't even have to ask. They're going to Maccas where its a MISTAKE if there aren't any in the bag, not the...
Read moreHow will you feel if you are served with these sort of foods that we were just been served before an hour? Order came in just 2 minutes, very very fast. It’s good? Or bad shouldn’t I say? The photos of the chips(both) are of the chips which the girl exchanged with the 1st served. The one she served first time was so cold and soggy that I requested for fresh chips and I even said with a smile that we will be happy to wait for it. Guess what? After 3-4 minutes she returned with these bowl. Same chips as before, just they fried again for couple of minutes and put the burnt ones down and some not burnt ones on the top. The bolas. I have been to many Oportos before but this quantity? Even for a small one? Rice- very dry and uncooked rice. If you see the photos then you see the rice shells inside. We wanted spicy chicken. You know what they did? Chicken was done from before, not like the others where they will grill it for with with sauce, not just brushing on the top. On the half chicken they bothered to brush sauce on the top, just a bit, but on the single piece they didn’t even give a damn to put anything. The chicken piece you can see how dry it was, it was a drumstick which was not supposed to be this much dry.
Very very disappointed, really. We are paying for this, you are not giving it free that you can just give anything on plate. Respect people’s money and time. Never had an experience like this before at any Oporto.
I am not sure even this review even means anything for you or not, but if you really keep providing these sort of foods, then know that people will not go there for a...
Read moreWe visited again this time the food was served hot, our favourite chilli-cheese chips were cooked perfectly!
The Double Bondi burgers were outstanding despite their smaller size, they were perfectly prepared & cooked.. The extra chilli & mayo sauce combination ratio was perfect in the burgers.. Well deserving of a 5 star in taste.. The cheesy chilli chips were average on this occasion, could do with with an extra drizzle of the cheese chilli sauce.. They have served this previously with more flavour.. Couldn't taste the chilli or cheese much this time & they should be served hot not just warmed... The side orders of spicy chicken bolas & jalapeno cheese sticks could also be served hotter. They should be warm enough to the point the cheese melts in the crumbed jalapenos.. the cheese with in were a little rubbery.. These were also prepared in better way previously.. Today these tasted just average ... The service however was very prompt, we were only seated for a minute before our ordered food was served to our table. Makes me think that these were already prepared but...
