Unkind and unfriendly exchange from the server, there are kinder business to spend you money with in Darlinghurst - I went in to also order a juice when I arrived (at 2:10pm) as my friend had ordered one 5 mins before - the server told me they didn’t have fresh juice, I gestured to the one my friend had in her hand …. The server then proceed to tell me I couldn’t have a juice because she had just cleaned the juicer and didn’t want to make me one and have to clean it again. I asked if there was any way possible, as the kitchen wasn’t going to close for another half an hour… she bluntly refused and was quite rude. We now couldn’t leave the cafe, as my friend had already paid for her juice…so we had to sit there in this newly hostile environment, with no drink, feeling pretty unwelcome, as other customers ordered all kinds of other sandwiches and drink from the kitchen 👎 what was it…did you not like my hat? Read moreUsed to go here often as the food and coffee is good despite long wait times and sitting in the cafe on numerous occasions waiting to be served for ages whilst staff only seem to focus on take away orders. Just got back from an overseas trip and have nothing in the house and had a huge craving for peanut butter but no stores were open and the convenience store next door didn’t have any. Thought I would ask if they could put a small amount into an espresso cup and even offered to pay but they flat out refused. Not really sure what skin off their nose it would be and I worked in hospo for years and was always more than willing to oblige when I had these requests. Good coffee from the start makes this a great café to start your day in. The menu offers a good range from simple toast through to gravlax, Halloumi, healthy bowls, and burgers. No group will be left unhappy for choice!
Be sure to peruse the bakery options from fresh croissants (plain, almond, and chocolate) to spelt scones, fresh giant pretzels, and plenty of bread loaves to keep you happy.
