I am writing to express my profound disappointment with the customer service we experienced during our recent visit to your restaurant. The service was unacceptable and left us with a highly negative impression.
We decided to try your restaurant for dinner with my family. After reviewing the menu, we ordered three spit boxes (one pork with haloumi salad, one beef with beetroot salad, and one chicken with chips) and one souvlaki with chips and pitas.
When we inquired about the number of pitas included in the souvlaki, the staff member informed us that it was a mini pita cut into two triangles. We clarified this multiple times to ensure we understood correctly and decided to order extra pitas. Additionally, we ordered a large serving of tzatziki, two beers, and a can of coke, totaling approximately $141.
When the order arrived, the beef spit box was the first to be served. We noticed that it was not the spit beef we expected but rather a yeeros-style beef made from seasoned minced meat. Despite this, we decided to give it a try. I guess we were expected beef steak type cuts instead. We also observed that there were four pita triangles instead of the two described by the staff member.
The rest of the order arrived 5-7 minutes later. The pork spit box came with chips instead of the salad we had ordered. When we brought this to the attention of the staff member with shorter blonde hair, she took it back and rolled her eyes, making us feel as though it was our fault. She returned with a kitchen order receipt to prove us wrong. Her attitude was not only unprofessional but also disrespectful.
We reiterated that the order was incorrect, and she reluctantly went back to check. We saw another waiter taking that order to a different customer, indicating a mix-up. When we asked about the tzatziki, the staff member appeared frustrated and rolled her eyes again. She brought us a small serving, and we had to remind her that we ordered the large. This seemed to frustrate her further, but she eventually brought the correct serving. At no point did we receive an apology from the staff for these mistakes.
It is unfortunate that such poor service overshadowed the positive aspects of your restaurant. The location, design, and facilities are well-designed, decorated, and clean, which initially gave us high hopes for a pleasant dining experience.
Regrettably, this experience and the staff member’s behaviour significantly impacted our overall impression. While the food was reasonably good, the service was abysmal and left us with a bad taste. We will not be recommending your restaurant or returning in the future unless significant...
Read moreWe came to your Greek restaurant Parea in Cogra for my son‘s birthday first impression the restaurant is amazing and beautiful anyway we looked at the menu and my husband ordered the 45 dollar platters and it says you have to order two which is fine. I still don’t understand why you just don’t put $90 share platter that just makes more sense to me and it’s not confusing anyway we ordered other food we ordered two plates pasticio 300 g of lamb and the meatballs with the rice slowly slowly these little dishes which were ridiculous started coming on our table it was getting fuller and fuller. There wasn’t even a lot of room. At first. My son thought most of them was for him and then my husband realised that the food was maybe for both of them anyway we asked a couple of the people working there they didn’t have a clue what was going on. They didn’t know nothing about the platters then the manager came, I have to admit he was really nice but that’s not the point. He was very helpful. He goes that’s $90 worth of food but one thing is not $90 worth of food here and why is it in these little platters, it just seems like for one person it just didn’t make sense to me. Anyway he had a look at the receipt and realise that the meat dish with the chips was missing so he went and got that plate even though the plate was bigger. The meat on it was so small I know these days everyone struggling but we paid good money and the only thing that taste okay was the pork everything else was really really dry And the pasticio the taste was okay. The serving size was small and cut in triangles entree Size it just looked unprofessional. There was more salad than pasta but when you order a platter specially $90 cause you had no choice weren’t allowed to order $45 even though they said it was $45 each put it in one big. Plate or two big plates if it’s to share not 10 little plates And I tried to explain to the guy that the menu is very confusing the way you priced it. Why can’t you just price it $90 share platter and he just went away with two customers that walked in and never came back? I know you were really busy or you were that day so I know you don’t care about my review. My poor son Anthony just felt like he’s day was spoilt cos me and my husband got really upset with the amount of money we spent. Food wasn’t the best. I said. The meat was a bit dry not very nice traditional Greek food. and I think it’ll be nice to to have someone that was Greek working there and I think all staff should speak English like I said I’m really upset because it’s ruined my son‘s birthday and we left unhappy and I still can’t get over it. It’s...

Stepping into Parea feels like being transported straight to Greece. The restaurant’s beautiful interior, with its Mediterranean blue and white color scheme and tasteful Greek decor, creates an authentic atmosphere that sets the perfect stage for what’s to come.
The staff deserve special mention - they’re exceptionally friendly and accommodating, making you feel like a welcomed guest rather than just another customer. Their warmth and attentiveness truly enhance the dining experience.
Now about the food - absolutely delicious! The menu offers wonderful variety with each dish prepared to perfection. From the perfectly grilled souvlaki to the creamy tzatziki that melts in your mouth, every bite transports you to the shores of Santorini. This is genuinely the closest you’ll get to authentic Greek cuisine without boarding a plane to Athens.
What impressed us further was how promptly our order arrived. The waiting time for food couldn’t be better - quick enough to satisfy hunger but allowing just enough time to enjoy good company and conversation.
Practical details matter too - parking is a breeze with plenty of spaces available in the area, making the restaurant easily accessible even during busy periods.
The restaurant itself is immaculately clean, from the dining area to the restrooms. I also appreciated the excellent clientele that Parea attracts, creating a pleasant, relaxed ambiance that makes dining here that much more enjoyable.
For an authentic Greek experience in Sydney, Parea delivers on all fronts. It’s not just a meal, it’s a delightful Mediterranean escape right...
