Peperoncino restaurant BYO — Restaurant in Sydney

We have come on Sunday for few glasses of wine/beer and few snacks. First of all - there were only a few tables occupied, but annoying and loud pop music which was coming from the speakers made it impossible to hear my husband who was sitting next to me. Why would you play this kind of music at an Italian restaurant at 1 pm on Sunday (?) We decided to change the table for the outside one, as otherwise, we would just leave without trying food or drinks - we come to a restaurant, not to the bar/pub. The staff were extremely welcome and I would say the service was good. The bruschetta was tasty, the olives ok, focaccia dry so it was necessary to eat it with olive oil. We really liked aglio pane e olie. Wine and beer selection is good! Would love to give it another go if they improve atmosphere (annoying music). Maybe Italian music as is an Italian...

We arrived with our friends for a relaxed dinner on Saturday night 7.30pm booking. There was a live band just a guitarist and a female singer. It was so loud we had to move outside and still we could not hear ourselves speak or order our food as we had to keep repeating ourselves to the waitress (who was lovely and very patient) the band finally took a dinner break thank goodness, but then came back on just as loud. We asked our drinks waiter to please turn the speakers down he came back to say the manager said no he wouldn’t. There were only 3 tables occupied inside 2 who seemed to personally know the band, it completely ruined our first time to Peppercino. I rarely give poor reviews, but unfortunately we did not have a good experience here. My Spaghetti Prawn pasta was significantly undercooked (very chewy) and it came with only two prawns. My friend’s pasta had a brown hair in it, mixed in with the sauce and the pasta. We showed this to the waitress and she offered to remake the dish, which was nice but shouldn’t have occurred to begin with. My other friend’s Mushroom Pizza took a very long time to come out. When it arrived it was cold, the dough was undercooked, and it was overall tasteless - the mushrooms were fried and shredded as opposed to what you would usually expect from a mushroom pizza.
