I came here to celebrate Valentine’s Day, but unfortunately, the experience turned into a disaster.
We had a reservation for 7:30 PM and weren’t seated until 7:50 PM. That wasn’t a big issue since we understood it was a busy night. However, things quickly went downhill from there.
From what we observed, there were only two staff members on the floor, a young woman and a gentleman who seemed to be the supervisor or manager. The gentleman took our order at around 8:00 PM. We ordered a pizza, spaghetti, and two drinks (a cocktail and a beer).
We patiently waited for 45 minutes, observing the restaurant as we both work in the hospitality industry. At this point, we still hadn’t received our food or even our drinks. Other customers seemed to be in the same situation; an elderly couple who arrived before us still had an empty table with no food or drinks. After an hour of waiting, I decided to go to the bar to ask about our order.
The young woman at the bar looked confused when I mentioned our order. She then called over the gentleman who took it, and they had a conversation in Italian. He finally turned to me and said he would make our drinks right away and bring them to our table within five minutes. Frustrated but still trying to be patient, I was about to walk back to my table when I overheard him speaking to the kitchen just then putting our food order through!
At that point, I lost it. Seriously?! We had been waiting for an hour, and our food order hadn’t even been sent to the kitchen?! That meant we’d likely have to wait at least another 15 minutes. Absolutely unacceptable.
This experience was beyond disappointing, and I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a smooth, well-managed dining experience, especially on a...
Read moreFrom the moment you walk into PizzaEVino, it feels like you’ve been teleported straight to a little corner of Italy — where everyone speaks with their hands, laughs with their hearts, and food is practically a love language.
The menu? Small but mighty. Every dish tastes like it was made by someone’s nonna who won’t let you leave the table until you’re full and happy. And believe me — you will be. The atmosphere? Loud in the best way. Joyful, welcoming, and filled with the aroma of good food and even better company.
Now let’s talk about Dario — our wonderful host for the night. This man didn’t just serve us, he adopted us for dinner. With his warm smile, effortless charm, and perfectly timed jokes, he made the whole experience unforgettable. Grazie, Dario!
And just when you think it can’t get any more Italian — bam! — you go to pay the bill, and instead of a simple “arrivederci,” you’re surprised with a small magical drink. It’s sweet, it’s lemony, and it wraps up your evening like a pair of soft, citrusy arms. Limoncello hugs, my friend. The perfect goodbye… or should I say, arrivederci e...
Read moreVoted to be among the Top 8 eateries in Sydney’s inner-west Glebe by one of our fave guides, The AGFG, this place is located at the centre of buzzling Glebe Point Road and has free parking across the street. The very Italian and very welcoming staff made us comfortable; set in an almost romantic surrounding with ‘just right’ lighting. We started this pleasant evening with Prawns Napoletana cooked in delectable chili and garlic sauce, which matched perfectly well with classic Italian bread (for dipping! and a bit of fighting as who gets to have the last piece!). This was followed by a satisfying plate of Penne Boscoiala and a pizza appropriately described as ‘everything on top’. This means, pineapple too! And this also gave us room for a culinary deliberation on whether Italian pizza should have pineapple (me) or should not (him). In the end, Pizza e Vino’s simply delivered a satisfactory pizza. (I won, btw). The exquisite and romantic dinner was rounded up with an enchanting traditional Tiramisu. This is a ‘you cannot go wrong’ kind of place. Well done guys! Grazie for...
