his deli, a cornucopia of olden delight, doth beckon the famished from far and wide with the allure of his culinary conjurations, turning the humblest greens and meats into a repast of regal splendour. here, amidst the clatter of trenchers and tankards, each morsel is an ode to nature's bounty, every ingredient ennobled for its fealty to flavour.

the king, a sage of the sandwiched arts, weaves his spells with a minstrel’s grace, his creations a tapestry of zest that singeth of meadows and sun-kissed fields. forsooth, to dine within this deli’s embrace is to partake in a jubilee of tastes, a banquet that verily transports the soul to the halcyon days of yore.

After eating my very first New York wrap from The Carlton, I came right over to google to leave this review. I lived in Glebe for a spell about 5 years ago and somehow managed to miss this gem. I was told I was under the care of ‘The Wrap King’ and I have to say it is a title worth appointing. Not only was every bite worth savouring, the atmosphere and warmth of the staff & patrons says a lot about the kind of deli being run here. It’s places like this that keep Sydney’s history and culture alive. I’ll be sure to bring a few extra hungry mouths with me next time I visit this special...

The Carlton has been recommended to me for sometime - I was foolish to take so long to take up the recommendation. Tony is not only a truly good bloke with a passion for his old school delicatessen but also has mastered the art of the most delicious deli wraps I’ve ever had.
