Disgraceful company. I bought a luxury mattress and also a bed base that you had to assemble. I didn't assemble it for about 6 weeks as it wasn't needed immediately. When I unpacked the boxes to assemble it there were 2 identical parts that were missing - small metal stands that support the metal bar that both sides of the slats sit in. Without these the bar bends and all of the slats pop out making it completely unusable. When I contacted Sydney Bed they said I had to email them. I emailed to say the parts were missing and I needed them (these are 2 tiny metal pieces that would only cost a few dollars) they took several days to reply and then said that you only have 24 hours to inspect the boxes and report missing parts so it was just too bad. Nobody advised me of this and it it did not say this on the invoice either. Regardless of their policy - which is a breach of the Australian Consumer Law and also while the bed base does come with a 12 month warranty they have refused to supply the parts, they still sell the bed base so they have the parts but they refuse to do anything about it. I have emailed them about 10 times, they have never called me and said basically they are not doing anything until the Dept of Fair Trading forces them to act. Worst customer service ever - breaching the law, rude and refuse to honour the warranty. Also the base itself is terrible quality and a nightmare to put together. Read moreI am reporting this company to fair trading and consumer tribunal, I ordered a back care style mattress, the day it came, I slept on it at night I found that in the middle of the mattress there was a sag and springs were digging into my back and painful, I contacted them and was told to send them an email, which I did, they will not respond to my emails or speak to me on the phone, very rude and talked over me as I was trying to explain,, the mattress is brand new and only slept on it once, so now I have been sleeping on the floor till this gets resolved. It has been a nightmare literally, they wont respond to my emails and refuse to talk to me on the phone, very hard to correspond to them due to the fact no one wants to sort the problem out and their business hours is 10.00am to 12.00pm, that's why the warranty they give you with the beds mean nothing because if anything goes wrong with what you bought it is extremely difficult to pursue them, be very careful buying anything from this seller, when something sounds too good to be true then there is something wrong. Read moreFlatmate recommended these guys, I went in, tried their mattresses, found one I loved, it was even better than the one my flatmate has (his is still great after 2 years) Mine is excellent even after 1 year. Customer service is outstanding.
I hate pushy salesmen, but the floorman here wasn't. He made a good point: let your body decide. I'm so glad I did. I get a great sleep every night. Highly recommend going in to the shop. They are buried at the back of a warehouse, but wonder in, you'll find them (a lot of mattresses). You'll be glad you supported this local business, I highly recommend!! Excellent product, great value for money!
Just read some bad reviews, sounds like competitors trying to put customers off. I can say my flatmate & I are happy with the higher price-range bed (which was still a bargain). I can't speak for other customers. No disappointment...
