The good is served in sort of a home-made style, it's an interesting and different style that didn't really 'hit the spot'. However the main food was certainly good food and prepared, presented and cooked well. Mostly a quick-bite menu of salads and sandwiches. It would be nice to see a little more on the menu as this place could go further with its atmospheric charm. Although, the food appears to be remaining very health-concious which is refreshing. Only complaint was the chairs, specifically the cane ones - they were fatiguing to sit in and quite oainful for the back. This is just due to their shape, they don't allow you to sit up straight, instead dig into the shoulder blades and round you off to a hunch by default. I suppose if you don't use back rest they're just fine! The service was very friendly and pleasant. Great spot with an excellent atmosphere; historic, natural light, vibrant and uplifting. Great drinks here too, the Green Detox juice was exceptionally good, certainly not a gross green drink. All in all, good experience!

Lovely green, outdoor 1850's courtyard in Wollarha. Very relaxing and pretty space with some indoor conservatory seating to keep the rain and direct sun out. Unfortunately one of our pre-meal ordered hot drinks came after everyone had finished eating even after chasing it up twice however the food for a fairly large table of ours all came within just a few minutes which I thought was impressive given how busy they were and that we could only see one waitress throughout. The food was reasonably good and just a little over priced I thought but the atmosphere made it worth it. I'll be back and recommend. Quite a few furry friends around as well which is always lovely to see so well done to the Plane Tree Cafe for allowing them in.

My first stop once I land in Sydney is always David’s cafe for a avo toast (order the one with feta and peas) and a coffee. It’s the Woollahra local for a reason. The food is great and it’s a nice place to sit and enjoy the day. The rest of the menu is great too, and often they’ll post a special on their Instagram. The amaretti at the counter are also to die for.

Very unwelcoming — no hospitality at all for families or if you have kids, or even if you are female it seems. Stepped in while it was raining and was completely turned-off by the rude service from the older grey haired man, saying we couldn’t sit (or even take a look) inside when there were chairs clearly available. Tried to turn us away from the place and then said only the outside area is available after persistence, then proceeded to talk about us to the younger girl waitress, who also didn’t greet us and gave looks. We ended up just leaving and going somewhere else. Sooo many other (wonderful) cafes to choose and spend money on, just definitely not this one! Don’t waste your time stepping in...
