Queen Street Delicatessen: Out with the old in with the New!!

I was in there today and I asked a lady if they did sandwiches there and she ignored me, thinking she hadn’t heard I asked her again only to be rudely responded with “I don’t serve, ask the other lady”. I walked straight out. This wasn’t the first time they were rude in there nor the last based on a few reviews & experiences below. I have tried to order from this place over many years of living in Woollahra and more than a handful of times have I been addressed with a rude attitude (so I chose never to go in there but thought I’d try my luck today maybe things had changed). Do yourself a favour and get better and younger staff who aren’t a part of the decor and hate their job, so the customer service isn’t affected. I have been in customer service and think it’s Spaulding the attitude - out with the old in with the new!

Extremely unpleasant and rude. The food is ok but hugely overpriced for what you and believe me it's not worth poor customer service. I'd rather support businesses who have pleasant staff and share good experiences - Kuk Thai next door has great staff and a nice vibe as does Queen Street Italian to the right of...

Terrible attitude and customer service. Happy to support small businesses, but not when an order/enquiry is so rudely delt with.

I rang to place an order of 16 sandwiches for the following day pick up. After waiting on hold for 3 minutes, the gentleman asked what I was wanting to order. I gave my order & told him I would send my colleague in at 10:30 to pick up, I was asked to wait again and I could hear a discussion between him and a lady. He came back and asked if 11:30 would be ok and I explained they were for a meeting so 11:30 is too late. He went and asked the lady in the background again and I heard her reply very clearly "11:30 or Nothing!"

So "Nothing" it was! What sort of attitude and reply is that from a business owner?

Our company often host client meetings and we provide light catering, I had been recommended Queen St Deli by a friend and had a great experience from a young girl the previous week.

After this experience, I will never return and will be happy to take our business elsewhere! I'm also happy to give my feedback to friends and colleagues to absolutely avoid...

We go out of our way to support small business. But when the staff ignore you and then when they eventually get around to serving you are so gobsmackingly rude to you it is difficult to come to any other conclusion but that they just don’t want your business. The service was so appalling we left mid-order and went elsewhere for exactly the same products but without the barefaced rudeness. Wish we had read the other reviews before we popped in and...
