We are locals and we decided to have a breakfast at RBH. Its location is beautiful however the service doesn't match it. We all had eggs benny, it was standard however only came with one slice of bread.. coffee was ok, nothing to brag about. We were more disappointed in the service, the lady that greeted us didn't even smile for the whole time we were there. We called before and were told we don’t need to book just walk in. There were plenty room along the windows, despite mentioning that we wanted a window seat, it wasn't even a acknowledged and we were seated right on the entrance. Then a waiter was pouring the water and reorganising the table for us and she was a little aggressive when doing it. Then she spilled my cup of water and walked off, my friend called her and let her know but all she kept saying .. did I do that ? Etc .. I felt that was too funny… no sorry or anything.. just wiped it and left. As we were there, we were been kind of watched.. and we felt as if they wanted us to leave already. Throughout the time being there, our water glasses were never filled and we were never asked if all is ok. So I asked if we could have more water, as soon as I did that the lady at the front, I guess she is the hostess, placed a bill on our table. I couldn’t believe it. She was almost annoyed that we were not leaving and instead I asked for more water. Since when do places place a bill on your table without you asking, thats plain rude, ( we were there approximately total 1hr) maybe we wanted something else or desert, nobody asked if we wanted anything else. Also you get a rock on top of your bill ( I get it- beach and all) but don't think its chocolate rock so don't bite into it, might break your teeth . I don’t think this place has the right floor people working there. No smiles, no warmth and care, no attention by staff. It seems that its all about the location and set up, and how many people they get in and out, but a nice place and location views is one thing but if Im not feeling comfortable and welcomed, I wont be spending my time & money there. Every place where you deal with people requires patience, smiles and care. There were no...
Read moreAwful customer service it doesn’t Even deserve half a star! This place has been open long enough so their excuse we are a new business isn’t an excuse and customer service is pretty straight forward you get kinder/friendlier service at McDonald’s staff)… The lady at the door was ok but once we sat down it went down hill from there. We were given filthy looks and death stares by the waitress constantly every time I looked out her way (she seemed young or perhaps related to the owner/manager, she def needs a talking to and a lesson on customer service If she hates her job she shouldn’t be there). They were rushing us and taking away our mugs as soon as one of us was finished as if having us there was such an inconvenience to them. I made a point of holding my mug as I hadn’t finished and I was sick of them rushing us. And the waitress had the hide to ask if I was done so she can take my mug. Half way through they said we need the table for waiting guests even through the entire place was empty and there were plenty of tables and free chairs and “the ppl that were waiting” that just arrived were sat at one of the many empty places. Honestly if you didn’t want our business I would have preferred they would have shown us their true colours at the start so we didn’t come in and put up with the worst experience we’ve ever had. It really put a damper in our mid morning. Def don’t recommend this place the only good thing about it is the location but who cares there are plenty of cafes near Ramsgate coles where you can grab a coffee and sit at the beach or go to La prominade which is a little further down. We are locals and came with international guests and it was embarrassing for them to witness such a disgusting attitude by our waitress. I won’t be back here ever again and will be telling my family & friends not...
Read moreI was extremely disappointed with my experience at RBH, particularly given the expectations set by the venue’s reputation and pricing.
I had booked a table for 12 guests and was not informed at any stage (by phone or email) that this would require a set menu. Discovering this only upon arrival was both surprising and uncomfortable, as I was unable to advise our group in advance or prepare them for the cost.
Additionally, there was no mention of a Sunday surcharge or an extra fee for larger groups. In my view, charging a set menu fee, a Sunday surcharge, AND a group booking fee is excessive. If the set menu and surcharge are meant to cover food and increased staff costs, it is difficult to understand the justification for an additional group fee—particularly when there were no additional services or accommodations provided as part of that.
Portion sizes, particularly for the starters, were tiny. Barely one bite person. Given the price point, and the fact we were obligated to have a set menu, I would strongly recommend benchmarking against comparable venues like Queen Chow, who offer far more generous and satisfying banquet experiences.
Finally, it was an exceptionally hot day (39°C), and the restaurant remained open (all windows and doors) while the air conditioning was on, defeating the entire purpose. The environment was extremely uncomfortable. We were sweating through the entire meal. There’s no excuse for not providing basic comfort in that kind of weather.
While the view was beautiful and the service person allocated to us attentive, the overall experience was deeply frustrating and underwhelming. DO NOT book this venue for a...
