Ive been coming to this pub on and off for years. Spoken highly of this place to friends and family and even been involved with the entertainment on occasion. My friends and I were having an evening to celebrate a friend of ours being in town and were one person short of a complete group. This was because the security guard decided that due to this person wearing shorts, and a dress code apparently states no shorts after a cerain time. If rules are rules, why were other people allowed to proceed in past security wearing shorts.

If there is some other motive this security guard had, it should have been put straight on the table as honesty. Our mate, a genuine human who could probably hold his alcohol better then most of the regular patrons, wouldnt hurt a fly was denied access based on a loose rule.

We just wanted to have a good night. To those good staff who have always been genuine people towards my friends and I. You know it as well as I do. It only takes one person to ruin an evening. And that night... You guessed it! It was the...

The red cow is a historical pub. They have a great bistro menu at reasonable prices. A gaming area. A outdoor entertainment area. However good luck gaining entry to this venue as it's guarded by very hostile security officer's that think their the royal guard protecting her majesty the queen. Stop who goes their. Show me identification. This is a restricted area move away or the police will be called. Last time i checked this is australia we're the average citizen goes out to have a beer and a laugh with their friends. After all it's not 1999 any more. But i guess the security officer's have forgotten that their security licence is a privilege and has conditions that must be followed in accordance with the law. But since it's hard to forget the 90's i guess we should forgive them for being fruitcakes on a power trip. And since management likes employing fruitcakes that refuse patrons entry with legal currency to spend i guess it their...

I've had the pleasure of visiting the Red Cow hotel in Penrith many times as I lived in the neighbouring areas for over 50 years, and I must say that it has always been a great hotel. The hotel's location is fantastic, right in the heart of Penrith and just a short walk from the train station. The surrounding area is beautiful, with plenty of picturesque villages and stunning countryside to explore. One of the highlights of the Red Cow hotel is the food. The restaurant serves a wide range of delicious dishes, including classic pub favorites and more sophisticated, contemporary cuisine. The ingredients are fresh and locally sourced, and the chefs clearly take great pride in their work. Overall, I would highly recommend the Red Cow hotel in Penrith to anyone looking for a comfortable, welcoming, and well-located place to whether you're visiting the area for business or pleasure, this hotel is an...

Historic pub located in the heart of Penrith CBD. Offering tap beer, packaged beers, RTD’s, wines, spirts and cocktails. Along with a fully equipped kitchen with great pub classics along with daily specials. Multi story seating with balcony views along with beer garden environment. Indoor and outdoor, TAB, keno and gaming facilities, Sports bar multiple big screens and pool table. No onsite carpark however plenty of parking within attached Penrith Westfield. Guinness was consistently poured as pictured, could be a training issue, Food was prompt fresh and tasty. Staff where friendly Would recommend for you’re next casual lunch or dinner out in Penrith,

We had lunch here yesterday and we were served farely quickly it wasnt overly busy but it was nice to sit inside to stay out of the humidity as the fay was super hot . The service was good and the staff were helpful letting us know there was a lift for my daughters pram for bubs. The menu is what you expect in a pub but it was all cooked very nicely and tender. My son in law had never been here before and said the food was pretty good. He orgered the burger like hubby did my daughter and I orgered the chicken snitty. I never eat all of mine although i ate nearly all of mine this time in the red cow. Over all not a bad pub.

This is bit of a rough and tumble railway pub. The beer garden is usually fairly busy of an afternoon and on Friday/ Saturday nights. The bistro is pretty good. They do steak, burgers, schnitzel, pasta and some seafood/ salad type options. The pub is quite old and has a very historical feel about it. The upstairs area is divided into smaller spaces, so it quite good if your looking for a place to have a more private meal. They take big bookings and they are very accommodating for large groups. Like all good bistros, portions are large and prices are good. The schnitzel is a great options for a hungry belly.
