Ryoh Japanese BBQ — Restaurant in Sydney

Made a booking 5 days prior to coming for 6 people and asked the price for the buffet. First of all, the man who i talked to asked if i wanted lunch/ dinner? And i said dinner. He then told us its $59 without sushi, sashimi and seafood and $79 includes everything.

Went there, they couldn’t find my booking. They assumed that i called the mascot branch and i told them i called mascot and asked for Zetland branch’s number then talked to a man.

The server was trying to figuring it out and ask a guy who seemed like a boss or a manager and he bluntly said if they call mascot they can’t eat here. I then showed them a proof from my call history and the server asked if we want to split table instead and i refused and told them i’ve called and made booking long time ago and as it is work dinner we don’t want to split table.

They managed to get us a table after moving some customer to another table and we were given the menu which shows the price. Apparently the price they told us on phone is lunch price! And we ended up paying $80 without having sushi, sashimi, and seafood. I’ve also asked what drink selection they have on phone and they said coke, coke zero and calpis. When we went there its coke and coke zero only! And one of my colleague agree to pay extra to get another soft drink off menu and decided to order lift and instead of coming with lift, they told us they only have sprite.

For $80 bbq, they have 5 type of wagyu, 1 pork, and 4 type chicken with 2 type of drinks. We ended up paying over $500 and everyone did not enjoy and left disappointed!Overpriced! Save your time and go...

THE WORST restaurant I've ever been. IT DOESN'T EVEN DESERVED A STAR. We (3 girls) came to the restaurant and THE OWNER sit us inside with a bbq table without asking if we wanna have a bbq dinner or a la carte. He INSISTED (really really insisted) that we should have the bbq buffet which is $78/p. We take a look at the menu and decided not to have the bbq buffet coz it's not worth it. He wasn't happy with our decision and talk with other staff if we should change table. And then he started taking our orders and did not pay attention to what we're ordering and we helped him by POINTING OUT the dish on the menu but HE DIDN'T EVEN look at what we're pointing at. And VOILA! The food came out wrong and he came to our table and said it was our mistake! He DIDN'T SAY SORRY and just leave our table and said to other staff that it was our mistake with an attitude behind our backs! That's when we decide to grab the bill and talk to him about everything. He wasn't sincere and he was just a terrible person 🙁 EXTREMELY NOT RECOMMENDED at all! FYI: The food are overpriced and were not great. WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY! As we entered the restaurant as a couple at first they didn’t greet us , we felt that we are not welcome because 2 customers are not worth the money to make business. My husband and I ordered chicken with rice , teriyaki beef , sunny side up fried egg on top with rice and 2 miso small bowls of soup. At first the menu book picture looked so amazing and tasty , oh my goodness gracious!!!! When he served .The beef was really disappointed , it was really sweet like a PUDDING and didn’t taste the teriyaki sauce , the rice was too watery and seemed the rice wasn’t so fresh. SO I made a complaint to the server about the food that I didn’t even finished and I said “ the food wasn’t appetizing and I couldn’t even swallowed and I said I just have to pay my husband’s meal but even though it wasn’t good too, The server Replied you complaint but you ate the food? “ I Actually couldn’t continued to eat because it wasn’t taste fresh and just taste awful, I wasn’t intended to pay but my husband paid anyway not came from his heart. Overall the server didn’t say any apology whatsoever, we are just visiting from other country but we deserved better service not like this restaurant, Therefore I won’t highly recommended this...
