My partner and I ordered a green curry and the giant prawns at around 8pm. The waitress repeated our order back to us and took it to the kitchen (or so it appeared). We were sitting directly next to the kitchen. We waited and waited and waited. Saw plates and plates of food come out but none of them to us. After about 50 mins waiting we asked about our food. Considering we were literally sitting directly next to the kitchen we saw the reaction on the chefs face when the waitress enquired about our food. They had obviously lost our order. What amazed me was how unobservant ALL of the staff were. They walked past us multiple times and yet didn’t notice we had no food in front of us for close to a hour. I was also amazed how they dealt with the situation. Everyone makes mistakes they can easily lose a receipt that’s fine. But this isn’t what they told us. The waitress spoke to us like we’re children and started talking some waffle about how it’s taking so long.....she asked if we would mind if the curry came out before the prawns and we said that’s fine as we’re both starving. NO APOLOGY OR HONESTY. You would imagine if customers had been waiting now a hour for their food they would get priority in the kitchen. But we waited another 10 mins and saw multiple seafood and curry dishes going to other tables. I’m not a chef so I don’t know how long these dishes take but i think a vegetarian green curry and some grilled prawns wouldn’t be the most complicated dish. When they finally arrived, it was average and overpriced. It would of been a world of difference if the waitress said so sorry your order was lost and apologised. Or if someone had actually noticed us sitting there without any food!!! I’m still shocked and disappointed. Would...
Read moreWe went there for dinner, had satay chicken and chicken wings as starter, grilled snapper and herb stir fry with duck for main. I must say that I loved the food, meat was well cooked, chicken was crispy and the obviously homemade peanut sauce was awesome. The broth of the main was infused with delicious herbs such as thai basil, ginger, lemon grass and kaffir leafs, exactly how I imagine authentic Thai food! The place itself is very busy and casual, perfect for a quick bite or dinner with friends. It has the atmosphere of a modern street food restaurant. Unfortunately some things went wrong so I can only give 3 stars tonight. First of all I wasn’t happy with the use of spices in my sauce. The ginger was cut into thick pieces, covered with broth I mistook it as a carrot- not a pleasant taste. I would also have preferred if the lemon grass and kaffir leafs were cut into tiny pieces so you could actually eat them and enjoy the beautiful flavors even more. Plus we were charged for two bowls of rice although we only got one. Since our starters included skewers that are best eaten with the help of your hands we asked for some more napkins- and got exactly one per person. I would have preferred some more or even a moist whipe like you get it at other places. There was also a lomg hair in my food. We‘re all human and I’m glad that my food is prepared by real people but it’s not the nicest thing in a restaurant. Since the food was really good we will give this place a...
Read moreThe worst food we have EVER eaten. $22.50 for grilled seafood that consisted of 2 prawns that were dry & tasteless, 1 small scallop, 1 very thin 3 inch long piece of salmon that was dry & tasteless also & a few octopus that were jelly in texture & could not be eaten at all (even after asking them to grill them more). They use the exactly the same broth for their Tom Yum soup and their jungle curry (which is a soup & doesn't remotely resemble a curry). The cashew nut beef tasted & smelt as if the meat was over a year old (they obviously use low quality ingredients & had been frozen for ages). The Hokkien Noodle Chicken was mainly noodles (cheap to make) & what little chicken there was roughly prepared & dry. Same satay sauce used for chicken satay as was for steamed dim sims dipping sauce. (not even proper dim sims, just a small pillow with cabbage & carrot inside). Asked for small container to put beef & chicken we could not eat (although still hungry) to take home to our cats but even they took one smell & left it (they normally eat everything & anything)!! Charged us $98.80 including $12.00 for a small bowl of boiled rice which would not have served 2 let alone 4. No drinks & no dessert. Then they had the audacity to also charge 30cents for the container! NEVER again & if you know good food & fresh, quality ingredients STEER WELL CLEAR...
