First time tried their food was like 8-9 years ago, been here so many times The food was excellent. But lately, the food getting worse and worse. Last month, took my sister who is in her 8 months pregnancy visiting from tasmania for lunch, ordered plenty of food, the nasi uduk was off, she had some and asked our opinion so we all tasted. We told the staff the nasi uduk is off and they said it wasn’t fresh from the day, that’s why. They replaced to plain rice but didn’t return us money. The soup was salty, so much msg in most of the food we ordered as they always premade and precooked the food
Today we had dinner here and the ayam kremes, the kremes was super oily, hard to eat, and the siomay goreng was off, the fish smells super strong very unusual.
So we told the staff if they have the new one as we only had 2 pcs of it, they said they dont have new one as all same batch. So we got batagor as replacement.
The service was great tho, very helpful.
The soup iga so salty, like too much msg.

❤︎ 𝗠𝗼𝗼𝗱-𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱: Wanted a full Indonesian meal that really satisfied every craving ❤︎ 𝗙𝗮𝘃 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗵: Nasi Goreng Udang ❤︎ 𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿: When you miss Indonesian food and want something complete, comforting, and spicy ❤︎ 𝗩𝗶𝗯𝗲: Simple, clean, warteg-style counter but warm and full of flavor ✨
Out of all the Indonesian food spots I’ve tried in Sydney so far, this one stands out the most.
I ordered the Nasi Goreng Udang 🍤 and it did not disappoint. The portion was generous, the shrimp were juicy and nicely cooked, and the rice was packed with flavor. It came with krupuk and cucumber—comfort food at its finest.
I also tried the Bebek Betutu 🦆, which was super tender and flavorful. The sambal that came with it was bold and spicy, just the way I like it.
For dessert, I had their Es Campur 🍧—and it was the perfect finish. Loaded with toppings I love: avocado, grass jelly, basil seeds, jelly, and condensed milk. Super refreshing and nostalgic.
Definitely a place I’d go back to when I need my Indo food...
Read moreWhat a great little find in the city. Nestled between other favourites such as Medan Ciak, Shalom Indonesian offers cooking with the warmth of a homemade touch. Giggles from the all-female team hard at work in the kitchen and generous portions which reinforces that feeling of eating at someones home. I loved it! FOOD - 5* Super tasty rice with a welcomed lemongrass and coconut flavour compliments the duo of Beef Rendang and Chicken curry. Apologies for the photo of an empty plate with wooden skewers.....the grilled chicken satay sticks were hands down the best I've consumed so far. Believe me, I've chowed down a ridiculous volume of satay sticks over the last 10 years and could be referred to as an obsession. SERVICE - 5* Charming. I had flashbacks to exploring Jakarta and Java and the warmth I experienced from everyone on that trip VIBE 5* exuded the warmth and experience of a...
