Booked in a Special offers Couple's Massage with a back mask and steam eye mask online in celebration of my sister's birthday. But after booking, no email confirmation was sent. So I had to email myself which then I was made aware that the original time that I booked and paid for was not available. The email response that I received had minimal information given and I was also told that the package I was after was not available on the weekends and if I wanted to book in on the weekend I would have to pay $41 which I did not mind. Made the mistake of assuming that I would still be receiving the massage, mask and eye steam mask after paying an extra $41. Which we did not, we only received the massage for an hour. Although the boss was nice, she only offered an apology after the lack of communication on her end when she responded to my email. No confirmation was made either for my treatment upon arrival.
Massage itself was okay. There were times where my therapist seemed to pause and either take something out of his pocket which was indicated by the zipping and unzipping of his pockets. The massage was inconsistent with the pressure and there was no communication from the therapist besides when he asked me to roll over. There was also audible yawning from my therapist as well.
The Spa itself was small and homey, tea or water with a biscuit is offered after the service. Rooms are not soundproof, so you can hear other guests chatting outside and the eftpos terminal when it is used for payment.
No disposable underwear provided, and the treatment room for the Couple's Massage is quite cramped and small. They provided a small basket to put your belongings in, however they place your shoes in the shelving underneath the massage bed, right below your face. Which was not pleasant. The bed itself had to be moved from against the wall to closer to the centre of the room a few times due to the sizing of the room, and the beds were not adjustable for different heights as it was a wooden bed. The bed was also quite squeaky. No introduction from the therapists themselves, so we did not get any of their names.
The experience of this spa is very mid, nothing special or memorable that outweighs the negative. My only regret is not double checking that I was booked in for the service I originally asked and paid for. Website although does specify that the Speical offers are not available during the weekends and Fridays or PHs, although when they offered if I would like to book in at 2pm instead and pay an extra $41 for the same service I was happy to do so. When booking you do have to pay for the full amount via PayPal prior to the appointment. I don't believe any refunds are given if they don't have availability for the time you book. You are not guaranteed the time you book in and pay for, it kind of is a guessing/game of luck.
Despite the raving reviews, my sister and I did not have our expectations met...
Read moreI would've really liked to leave an amazing review especially considering the price I paid but unfortunately it wasn't quite the experience that I expected. I am so confused seeing other peoples reviews and do not understand how this could've possibly been good.
I booked a 'Couples Escape' for my partner and it started with the Billabong Footbath which was quite an awkward experience because it is literally in the hallway on a couch with your feet in this like wooden bucket/tub thing.
Unfortunately the massuer (seemed like he was a trainee) was in clear discomfort from kneeling on the floor which already lead to the first strange encounter, he was rather than massaging my partners legs were just rubbing in the cream product. At this stage I was already regretting booking a $458 massage, it was just not exclusive and unprofessional, literally nothing relaxing about this encounter.
The back scrub and back mask were interesting but there wasn't much technique to this beside rubbing in the exfoliator. The full body massage was nice in some parts because you were just being kneaded but in others I couldn't help but tense up even more - she was the loveliest lady but my god! she was digging her elbow into my rib and then pinched my neck nerves so hard, she didn't have pressure in the spots that needed it and it honestly just felt like I was being lightly touched most of the time. All my knots are still in my right shoulder.
The steam eye-mask was literally those shakeable hand warmers you get from Asia that you need to activate by shaking them, I was so excited for this because i thought it was the full get-up 'STEAM MACHINE'. There was no steam, my eyes just got sweaty from the warmth of the pads.
Since the facial - which i actually quite enjoyed but had no idea what they were putting on me. I have actually broken out a lot. I do not have acne prone skin, just oily-combo skin. I just cannot believe how quick my massive pimples popped-up.
Overall, I just think they need a lot more training and need to re-think charging clients such a HUGE amount of money for such a below standard set of skills. For a quarter of the price I could walk away so much happier from the massage parlours...

I had a terrible experience at Orchard Spa on the weekend. I’d booked my friend and I in for the 100 min chocolate package – which is advertised on the company’s website as: Massage with chocolate essential oil, Chocolate body scrub, Chocolate back mask and Chocolate mini facial.
Instead of the above, I was put through a torturous massage and a scrub of my back and the back of my legs. I asked the ‘therapist’ a number of times to go lighter on the massage but she ignored my requests. Her idea of massage was sticking her elbows into my back and hips. I declined having her massage my legs given how hard she went on my back. Then after 100 mins of the worst massage I have ever had, the therapist said ok and left the room. I was left asking the other therapist in the room when I would get my facial and back mask. She said that there must have been a miscommunication as they didn’t know I wanted a facial! What the hell?! I had booked the chocolate package as advertised on their website!
My friend managed to get a massage and a facial – although he said his face was very dry after the facial.
The torturous massage left me in tears and unable to bend to put on my shoes. The therapist who advised there had been a miscommunication got the manager for us to speak with. I raised my concerns with the manager and advised her that I didn’t get the package I requested. She offered to do the facial then but I was in too much pain. The manager then quoted me more than the advertised price for the package! I told her I wasn’t paying for my treatment because I didn’t get what I requested and instead ended up being injured. We ended up settling on a price but I wasn’t happy paying for any of it.
Two days later, I was in so much pain from the massage that I had to see a doctor and get medication to stop the muscle spasms. My friend’s face is still the driest it has ever been.
This day spa is terrible – I recommend you...
