Chargrill Charlie’s Dee Why — Restaurant in Sydney

Where on this gracious green earth do I begin? 5 years ago, my dear friend Dean (pictured) recommended The Chargrill Charlie’s Restaurant to me. I just thought, “Oh Dean, that’s just another chicken shop. Why do you keep talking about it?” I thought he had an obsession with chickens and I was beginning to worry. I attempted to ignore him, but just as I thought I’d forget, I was reminded. Then, it escalated to everyday that Dean said “You MUST go to chargrill Charlie’s.” One fine afternoon in the Scorpio season of 2018, I caved and attended the fine establishment. This was the day my world changed. Everything I thought I knew was a lie.

Now to this day, I have chargrill Charlie’s most weeks. Yesterday I walked in after ordering on the app (as I always do to rake up and redeem my charming Charlie coins - the real ones know) and my order was packaged and ready for my consumption within minutes. I sat myself down in the spacious, organised, thoughtfully decorated, fine establishment that you fine people have taken upon yourselves to create for your dedicated customers. I open the bag to a phenomenally packaged array of food and begin removing the burger box from my Charlie bag. I open the box to find a burger that looked like it was created by God, Our Creator, Himself. The bun - golden and toasted to perfection, smothered in a creamy, smooth, deluxe mayonnaise. The tomato, lettuce, and onion blessed my mouth with an explosion of fresh, nourishing, crisp goodness. The chicken squirted in my mouth, providing my palette with an abundance of spice, succulence, and moisture - and its juices slowly and sensually trickled down my throat. I let out a soft moan without hesitation. It was time for the chips.

The chips fit like a glove in my large mouth. Their salt and seasoning initiated an overwhelming influx of salivation which leaked all over my Charlie table. I was in a state of pure euphoria. The staff are always so sympathetic, gentle, sensitive, and brave. They wear their hearts on their sleeves in that kitchen and thrust their passion into each and every meal. Charlie never fails to disappoint and I can always rely on them for a fulfilling, nourishing, and out of this world meal. I will be forever grateful to my dear friend Dean for his recommendation, and like him, I will continue to spread the Charlie spirit around the world.

Very limited range, which they not only over charged me for. When i raised the dispute over the pricing not being inline with the displayed prices, the staff member ehilst remaining very polite during our conversation. She would not back down nor acknowledge the discrepancy...

Agter several minutes the manager apologised and refunded the variance.

I shop quite frequently at a number of their other outlets. Its slightly disappointing that their system allows staff to inadvertently over charge customers. But even more disappointing that it appears the company policy is to argue back. Politely or not?!

Absolutely love coming to Chargrill Charlie’s in Dee Why! The food is always fresh, delicious, and full of flavour. their Portuguese chicken is hands-down one of my favourites. The portion sizes are generous and there’s a great variety to choose from, whether you’re in the mood for a hearty meal or a quick snack.

The staff are friendly and welcoming, and even during busy times, they manage to keep things moving smoothly. The place has a great vibe – relaxed, clean, and perfect for a casual lunch or dinner with friends or family.

Definitely one of my go-to spots in Dee Why. Highly recommend if you’re craving quality food and...
