DEE WHY Headland — Attraction in Sydney

I used to surf the Dee Why point from 1972 to 2007 not bad when it's working. I have many memories of the point. I been out there with Dolphins, Terry Fitzgerald, Simon Anderson, the late knee boarder Peter Crawford. Shaun Tomson from South Africa, Russell "mumbles" Lewis he now resides in Hawaii. John "ox" Williams, Laurie McGuinness, Queenslander Wayne "rabbit" Bartholomew, Ian kanga Cairns from WA and Mark Warren to name a few. The 1970s produced huge surf. Don't see that anymore. Perhaps because of climate change? 1974 had the biggest surf I have ever seen, waves were breaking right out on the horizon due to cyclone. The winters were colder in the 1970s and early 80s. I remember often seeing frost on the ground on the Northern Beaches. I have not seen white frost on the ground since about 1986/87 last. Sadly the good old...

Love this headland, perfect place all year round, hot, cold, sunny or raining, sit in the car, bench or grass listening to that surf is just amazing.

On day with big swells come watch the surfers surf the big wave off the point or the kids getting smashed by the wave back i to the pool.

Grab some fish and chips, sit back...
