I used to surf the Dee Why point from 1972 to 2007 not bad when it's working. I have many memories of the point. I been out there with Dolphins, Terry Fitzgerald, Simon Anderson, the late knee boarder Peter Crawford. Shaun Tomson from South Africa, Russell "mumbles" Lewis he now resides in Hawaii. John "ox" Williams, Laurie McGuinness, Queenslander Wayne "rabbit" Bartholomew, Ian kanga Cairns from WA and Mark Warren to name a few. The 1970s produced huge surf. Don't see that anymore. Perhaps because of climate change? 1974 had the biggest surf I have ever seen, waves were breaking right out on the horizon due to cyclone. The winters were colder in the 1970s and early 80s.
