Been here a few times. The presentation of the food is always beautiful but the quality is inconsistent. Wagyu beef don meat can be tender & delish, but half the time, like today, u get it overcooked & hard. The soft shell crab & the vegetable tempura today both had too much hard thick batter, not the thin hairlike melt in mouth covering that we remembered. And it was a tad darker in shade than the normally v white batter so perhaps the cooking oil was reused too much. The tempura dipping sauce seemed diluted. The Tiger, Lion & other sushi was almost as good as we remembered. The salads included in some of the dishes were fresh & dressing was OK but a bit milder/blander than we remembered. They gave my parents hot water in v nice ceramic cups. The spare small bowls we as adults asked for were plastic worn looking kids bowls. The chicken pieces in my daughter's udon were quite soggy & bland. My son liked his chicken katsu don that has nicely cooked egg covering the pieces. Overall, today was below expectations. I am unsure if the cooks were not so good today as other times of the day/week or whether this place has permanently dropped in quality so unsure if we are going to revisit for a long time, sadly

My wife and I discovered this wondrous restaurant toward the beginning of our relationship many moons ago. In a world full of pain and darkness, this restaurant is light. One may say, it is a diamond in the rough. Or a rough in the diamond. I cherish the moments I spend in the warm embrace of Sushi House. The staff are like family and their delectable salad sauce bonds us together, similar to the molecular bonding of raw elements. So close. So dense. Oh, so dense. Back in the days of the Great Depression, myself and the Mrs were in a spot of financial difficulty and even then the Sushi House did not fail us, as it provides affordable delicacies of the highest caliber. We have never walked out of their doors still hungry. We thank you, Sushi House. And we love you ✌🏽. Regards, Gerald Phisher.

Sushie House is a real jewel in the Upper North Shore. Amazing fresh and authentic Japanese food at a very reasonable price. Great for the family and sometimes they project Miyazaki films during dinner, we have great memories of eating sushi and watching Totoro. They were closed in early January and I was counting down the days till they opened. When they did open I ate like a Shogun , Saporo on tap , Prawn Katsudon, Seared Salmon Sushi and piles of Wasabi. I would highly recommend you visit and experience their hospitality. Enjoy the Sake, Choya and Beer ... Kanpai

We called the Sushi House restaurant and placed an order for their large sushi platter for pick up. We called 30 mins prior and were very EXPLICIT with instruction NOT to include any shellfish (Prawns, Lobster, Crab and so forth) amongst the sushi rolls in the platter as someone in the home has an ANAPHYLACTIC reaction to shellfish. We specifically asked in place of shellfish to have Salmon, Chicken, Tuna or any other varieties of sushi.

My brother picks up the Sushi brings it home and we find Prawn sushi rolls in and amongst the sealed the platter. Very disappointing - people DIE from anaphylaxis.

A lot more care and diligence can be taken when specific orders are placed especially with a request like this. I would recommend that whoever takes the orders to please LISTEN and to not just go through the motion and simply agree to the order, but to take the appropriate care and diligence with food preparation.

Disappointed...
