Tam is the Vietnamese gem of Canley Vale.
It is located at hop 2/32-34 Canley Vale Rd, Canley Vale NSW 2166. It is a Vietnamese restaurant that provides authentic food and a wonderful atmosphere. The price was reasonable with many of the dishes being less than $17AUD at a top class quality and taste.
When you step into the restaurant you instantly scent the Vietnamese atmosphere with walls painted into leaves just like in Vietnam. There was a TV on the wall featuring Vietnamese music. The decoration was excellent and the service was definitely exceptional. Service was quick. When you were going to order they were there right away to take it. Waiting for food was very quick as well. You needed to wait from 3 - 8 minutes later and your food would be served. Staff were friendly and if they made a mistake with the order they offered to remake the dish.
When I entered the restaurant and looked at the menu, one dish instantly caught my eye, the Vietnamese signature Pho ($17AUD), a reasonable price for a luscious bowl of Pho. The soup tasted great, along with the noodles and meat. I also ordered the Red Rice with Crispy Chicken ($17AUD). The chicken was very crispy like promised in the name of the dish, and the fish sauce with the rice and chicken was delicious. I also ordered the Ha Cao Chien ($8AUD) which had 5 Ha Caos. As soon as you bite into it you can taste your tongue dancing inside your mouth to the delicious taste of meat. The crispy coating of the Ha Cao Chien was a great combination with the meat. Finally, I ordered my final drink, coconut juice($7AUD) . It was quite expensive but tasted immensely flavourful. The liquid flooded into my mouth then down my throat with an ice cold impression but also a sweet taste to it.
Overall, this restaurant is unique for its quality, atmosphere, decor, service, staff and pricing. I highly recommend this Vietnamese restaurant and I will definitely come back. Come by and visit this restaurant sometime in Canley Vale and you’ll have a taste of the best Vietnamese food around in...
Read moreHad the pho dac biet and was quite nice. And my dad had the Bun Bo Hue, also nice with the spice to it. However, Service could be better. Atmosphere could give out a more cosy and comfortable dining experience. No issues with the food which is good Also had Vietnamese iced white coffee, could have more coffee essence to it like other Viet iced white coffee they sell elsewhere, giving it a strong coffee taste. Lady that served us was polite and nice, but still can improve her customer service.
Definitely will be back in future to try other dishes. My next aim is probably going to be broken rice, beef cubes tomato rice, crispy chicken tomato rice 😜
(Note: council made a stupidest decision to put outdoor dining which takes up the kerb side parking space. They should already know how difficult it is to find parking on Canley Vale Road and they're not realising by putting the outdoor dining on trial for 6 months, they're making it WORSE FOR TRAFFIC. Can someone explain this?? Because I'm thinking about lodging a complaint for the people). THE COUNCIL SHOULD BE LOOKING INTO THESE THINGS BEFORE THEY DECIDED TO PUT THAT RIDICULOUS OUTDOOR DINING TRIAL. Just like Australia, no vision of the future which is why they're always slow with EVERYTHING. Roadworks, constructions, railways etc. The bloody idiots 🙄 I'm Australian myself and I know the way they do things is ridiculously SLOW. In which case, then interferes with alot of traffic. I mean, aren't the school zones bad enough already after knowing how there is peak hour traffic? With school zones it's making traffic even WORSE. And I'm not the ONLY ONE complaining about itm other road users are fed up with it and I've heard complaints from mother people..not just friends and families and neighbours but also from customers at my work place too and...
Read moreArrived at broken rice Canley vale & was greeted with a smile, decided to eat in & chose the spicy udon noodles. When I asked if I could add pork & crab was shown an option which included both. I pointed to the picture to double check that I was receiving the spicy/red pork & crab udon noodles as this was my first time here & thanked the waiter.
After some time my food came out I received a bright yellow soup which resembled a raw egg yorks as the base. I instantly knew this wasn’t what I ordered & showed the waiter the picture & food I ordered, she continued to argue with me & told me this is what i ordered & because I added pork & crab that’s why the soup base is a different colour. I did not appreciate the staff lying to me, adding in protein like pork or crab will not chance the base of the noodle soup.
I was forced to pay as there were a lot of people in the restaurant & this was starting to become scene as she continued to argue with me. I also did not want to be accused of a dine & dash in a small business & respect the cooks & waiters
After I paid for the $19 soup she asked if she could offer it to the homeless people outside, I said yes & left.
I did not have a great experience here & wish it went...
