While visiting Sydney this was by far the best place for aboriginal art. It has more than 2000 works from 240 artists. This place is a member of Aboriginal Art Association of Australia. If you are a collector you need to have the authenticity the association provides. We visited for several hours and went through several walls and rooms of paintings. Originally went in for a specific work and came out with 3 paintings including an Abie Loy Kemarre & Sarita King. Surrey who is part of the staff was extremely helpful and a delight to work with. I highly recommend the staff and the works that come from this business. As mentioned in one of the other reviews they are a gallery not an auction house. If you are looking to sell this is the wrong place. If I could give them more than 5 stars I would.

Kate Owen Gallery is not actually owned by the above,it was sold some time ago.It is concentrating on Aboriginal art ,there are 3 floors of paintings ranging in size from 300mm sq to several metres, there are also various scupltures presently on display. The staff are friendly here and they regularly have the Artists to meet on some exhibitions. Well worth going in for a look just for the pleasure .

Such a great gallery. So many amazing artists and artworks we found it hard to decide. Very happy and grateful with the beautiful art we now own. Thanks to Daniel for his guidance.

Daniel and the team at the Kate Owen Gallery are amazing. Not only do they have one of the most extensive and diverse range of amazing Indigenous artwork around, but their service is fully catered to allow customers the best experience within the gallery when choosing an artwork. Plus, they allow you to bring your favourite piece of art home to ‘try before you buy’ so you can see it in the space and make sure you’re 100% happy with piece.

They are fully attentive throughout the whole buying process and have excellent communication even after you finalise the sale, even providing a Certificate of Authenticity for each artwork.

I can’t recommend this gallery highly enough and I will definitely be back to buy my next...

We went to see the black+white exhibition here during the long weekend in June. It was so brilliant. The space itself is quite inconspicuous. But their collection is remarkable. Having said that they have niche artworks (like, they don't do landscapes). It's mostly abstract, dot, and modern/contemp and a largely from central Australian outbacks. Even then, it is just amazing to see such powerful artworks. The prices were okay, I think. Some were quite expensive. We are not sure how the artists are remunerated (we hope they pay the artists well). The staff at the gallery was extremely nice, friendly and very informative. We asked tons of questions and every single one of them was answered. I strongly advise people to...
