The only reasons I'm writing this review is 1) to stop others being fooled by the number of great reviews for this "Thai" restaurant and 2) to give feedback so this restaurant can improve.
I read all the great reviews of this place, I decided to drive down in the pouring rain to give it a try. The decor was nice and the servers were friendly so I thought I was about to unearth a culinary gem in the middle of Auburn. Instead all I got was disappointment.
My group of friends ordered 3 types of dishes: Pad Thai, Pineapple Fried Rice and Crying Tiger. From our experience of these 3 dishes at Thai Garden, all I can say that this restaurant doesn’t serve authentic Thai cuisine.
The Pad Thai was very sloppy and saucy, though the taste was somewhat okay compared to the other dishes we tried that day. Pad Thai is supposed to be drier because it should be cooked on high heat.
The Crying Tiger was not Crying Tiger AT ALL. And I repeat again, NOT Crying Tiger. Crying Tiger is supposed to be a dry grilled steak that’s chunkily sliced. What we were served was thinly sliced beef strips that were stir fried and drowned in extremely salty sauce. It was too salty even paired with the jasmine rice. Don’t lie and call this dish Crying Tiger, just call it Stir Fried Beef Slices in Gravy Sauce or something.
The Pineapple Fried Rice, though had the right ingredients, suddenly included random spices reminiscent of Arabian food. Why does my Thai food taste like Arabian food?!
All in all a very disappointing “Thai” dining experience. Please reconsider the chefs...

Ordered through the website on the google listing (thaigardenrestaurantauburn.com.au). This redirected to ozfoodhunter.com.au for ordering. All looked legit. The menu looked the same as when I have eaten in at the restaurant.
Didn't receive any order confirmation after 5 minutes so called up to ask if they had received the order. Was told that they don't have a website and they gets lots of calls from people thinking they do. So I put my order in again over the phone.
Got a phone call about 5 minutes later from ozfoodhunter saying that my order had been placed and would be ready for pickup in 15 minutes.. They said the restaurant had just signed up with them and the machine they had provided the restaurant was broken and was being repaired hence the confusion.
When I got to the restaurant they again said they don't have a website and don't know anything about ozfoodhunter or a broken machine but they had also gotten a call from someone at ozfoodhunter to place an order on my behalf and were very confused by this..
If you don't have a website then remove it from your Google listing (I've suggested an edit to get...
Read moreI have dined here with my family many times before and enjoyed the food however , since the last time the food is average and the portion size has somewhat shrunk, the service has deteriorated especially from the owner as we asked her the whereabouts of the rest of our order (keeping in mind service was to only 2 tables in the place) , after a 15 minute Wait it arrived and was below our expectations from previous dining, on our way out the lady remarked that “it was worth the wait wasn’t it” to which I replied that her chef needed a red bull or maybe shift it into 2nd gear, her reply was that I needed to pay double the amount for our food to be served together and to top it off after we left I noticed we had been overcharged by a few dollars. Not a problem whatsoever but I will say this to the lady in charge, your customer’s dining experience and satisfaction is your absolute advertising point and I will gladly advertise to friends and family the lack of customer service skills and experience that you boldly show to the people that pay your business to stay alive. Basically you have lost another...
