Initially, me and my partner were super excited to try Dawn House! I have seen so many TikToks and Instagram reels of this All-you-can-eat Korean BBQ, however my experience here has put me off Korean-barbeque for a while! The prices ranged from: Adult - $39 per person, Child - $29 per child, Infant $6 per person – in which I thought would be able to demolish and make my moneys worth, however BOY was I wrong about this entire experience .
We had an online reservation before arriving, however upon entering there was no host/staff to assist us to our table or even greet us, we were merely standing on the side until being asked if we had a reservation 15-20 minutes later. As a first timer to the restaurant, it would have been great for someone to guide us to where we needed to go, or even inform us of how to order, where the bathrooms/cutlery/extra food was. After being seated, the waiters had been avoiding eye contact towards us, in which we physically had to chase them down to receive assistance such as asking them to change our gas and grill. It was also quite upsetting as only HALF our grill had actually worked the entire night. It was quite unpleasant as the lights were also too dim, to the extent where we could not even determine if the meat was cooked or undercooked. Another downside was the meat, where they had provided all at once on the grill! This did not allow me and my partner to cook the meat at our own pace, and with the stressor of only having half a grill working was a total disaster. The meat was not marinated (literally little to no flavour) AND the fried chicken in the buffet tasted like powder... The variety of food was also very limited with only 3 meat options and about 6 additions to the hot pot including (rice cake, fish cake, noodles and about 3 other fish cake options!!). Also, in regards to getting extra food as this is a buffet-style restaurant, it was totally unhygienic! We had observed bugs coming in and out of the fridge as people were not closing the doors properly. I have to say that this place is very overrated, and I will always now second-guess TikTok stars who have dined here.
To be honest, the only good thing about this place was the side dishes, specifically the onion and garlic! The other side dishes such as kimchi was disappointing (literally tasted like cabbage, no spice at all). I would not recommend nor will...
Read moreI recommend you spend a bit more money on a different kbbq buffet restaurant. Also don't listen to food influencers, they are mostly like paid to do reviews or just have surprisingly low standards 😅 Firstly I had made a booking which I got there on time and waited somewhat patiently for 15 mins because the staff said they were clearing tables for us. I watched as 3 families and a couple being seated before us before I asked where our table was and if those other people had a booking, the server asked me again if I had booked... At this point I'm hangry and sweaty, that place even though is outdoors felt like the mosh pit on a summer's afternoon at stereosonic. Needs more fans. We were left at the table with a instruction pamphlet, ordered the food but nothing was specified about grabbing meats. We did the usual round of collecting our meat for cooking which they only had 4 types of beef and prawns. 25 mins later we still had no BBQ plate set up. They're understaffed and only one lady was going around setting up the tables. When it finally came out they had already put the meat on the grill plate for us which was annoying because we had just picked out the meats we wanted. The grill they use it terrible for the cuts of meat they had as the meats are sliced way too thin, it sticks to plate and ends up ripped and a majority of it burning into the grill which is wasteful. Sides selection is very limited. Got the beef flavoured hot pot and I'm pretty sure it's the Maggi beef instant noodles soup powder 😂 The utensils and sauces were placed on a side wall which to get to you had to find your way through the maze of the groups of people seated on the tables closest to that wall. Finally I ended up having diarrhea possibly from the prawns as I was the only one to eat them on the table. Just the experience I wanted after a day...

We had high standards for Dawn House due to their high 4.7 star average review rating but this was an utter disappointment. As we entered it felt like we were at a family backyard gathering, uncomfortable seats and very small tables. We were hoping the food could at least save the night, but some how it managed to become a lot worse.
To start with, we started our dining experience with their small selection of so called HOT FOODS which consisted mainly of Korean fried chicken, dumplings and gyozas. The chicken was cold, dry and tasted like it was cooked days ago. I have had better chicken that has been left in the fridge for a week. Every bite just lead to more disappointment and I was shocked that throughout the whole night, the hot foods were never replaced, they were sitting their for a reason. The other hot food was cold and flavourless and it was difficult for us to finish our plates.
We were hoping the meat would be better but it was also frozen cold and very low quality. Once we had cooked it, it had very little flavour and was mainly fat. I was surprised that they could call this placd a Korean bbq, infact Josh who originates from Korea stated that Dawn House is disrespecting his Korean cousine and culture.
Usually with dining its quality or quantity but somehow this place managed to have a very small selection with an even worse quality even the watermelon which was one of their 2 desserts was old and had a very bad texture.
We ended up leaving this place less than 40 minutes in as nothing was worth eating here. The service was also pretty poor compared to other korean BBQ places in sydney. If you enjoy decent food please do not give this place your money as it was $40 per person for jail...
