Thai N'More — Restaurant in Sydney

Tried this restaurant after noticed it was rated 4.8 particularly in Newtown which was such a competitive environment. To be fair, the portion for two people is enough and price is reasonable but when it comes to flavour, I’d only rate it 3.5 as its just on average level. I wonder how come it could have that high rating. The restaurant gives free prawn cracker and soft drink after the customer posts their Google review which is pre-reviewed by the restaurant.

We ordered papaya salad, pineapple fried rice, and combo entree. The combo entree consisted of fish cake, chicken satay, fried dim sum, curry something and money bag. They ALL taste like pre-made food at Coles. Papaya salad was way too sour. I didn’t see pounded lime and the tomatoes used were truss or gourmet rather than cherry. Pineapple fried rice was okay.

For a restaurant with this high rating, I’d have expected it to have some thoughts for the dishes or at least make them authentic instead of just making fast food that can make...

I saw the rating before I came, but when I came I didn’t expect this to be one of the best Thai meal I have ever had. And because I was hungry and the food was so good I forgot to make photos. The design of the place is ok, but definitely could be improved and be more authentic and relevant to the quality of food as food and service were just amazing. The host was very nice and friendly and he was giving recommendations from his heart as what he proposed was a very good idea. I really loved green papaya salad, the red curry was extraordinary - so many flavors and spiciness was very mild, the dim sims with pork were amazing too, but the star of this meal was Pad Thai - really I was thinking that it can’t be so good, I couldn’t stop eating it. Trick you to pay tips and google reviews! extremely noisy Went in with my friends for a Saturday night out. We ordered via the app, turns out they do 5% tips as default on app, NEED TO BR CAREFUL!! Also they give you prawn crackers and drink if you give them a google review, but then they read your review before giving them to you. Yes we can give honest reviews but who would do that when you know they will be reading right after? People wouldn’t do that out of fear that their service or food could be ruined… anyways just feel like the restaurant uses sneaky and indirect ways to earn money and get good review.
