The Acres Club, Greenacre is a newly renovated Bistro with modern decor, owned by Bankstown sports and occupies the interior of the club. Whilst it would The club also has pokies, Basement brewhouse beers and lawn bowls greens outside. Open 10 ā 10 and midnight between Thurs and Sun, you can pop in for lunch, an arvo session or party on into the night. The space is also extremely family friendly and would also be a good venue for a catch up of birthday celebration. The menu has a broad range of cuisines to suit different tastes, though largely Euro menu with a Japanese influence. The Japanese options include Takoyaki Octopus, Chicken Karage and Prawn Gyoza. The Gyoza had a really nice flavour and pan fried, accompanied with a home-made soy dipping sauce. We also tried the tempura prawn udon. From the starters menu, we also tried some of the more bistro options including the salt and pepper prawns with salad and chips. The mains list also boasts steaks, fish; salmon or barramundi as well as panko crumbed chicken schnitzel and braised lamb shanks for those wanting a hearty dish. A good option if youāre with a group is the Mediterranean tasting plate as you can try the souvlaki, haloumi, olives, arancini, chorizo, baby squid and more. Thereās also pizzas, pasta and a couple of burgers, including a soft shell crab burger with Japanese Mayo. You also canāt go past the panko crumbed banana, pavlova or crepes for a sweet end to your dinner. Acres Street Food We were at The Acres on a Thursday night which coincided with their āAcres Street Food eventā which hosts a number of food trucks out on the Green.
Grab your food and chill at one of the bench tables and relax.
Some great coffee by grind and press coffee crew, burgers from 2guys_burgers and pulled pork tacos from miss mabels food. We also tasted one of the best tasting plates of meats from smoking grill barbecue ā these guys have their huge smoker on site to produce some of the best ribs around.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhilst there were some positives with hosting a party of 25 guests at the Acres for our 12 year old daughters birthday, it was a real struggle to navigate around the rules and regulations of the club which contrary to the marketing proved NOT A CHILD FRIENDLY VENUE.
1.We were reprimanded for taking out too many plastic cups for our guests to drink water and soft drinks.
The children were constantly reprimanded for running and playing in out-of-bound areas. They werenāt allowed to go the bathroom unsupervised(even our 16year olds). Itās a no ball venue even though there are beautiful large areas for kids.
There was ZERO assistance to help run out food to our guests (30+ dishes).
Drink service was very slow so my husband and I both spent half our night waiting for bar service.
There is no wheelchair access into the venue so our mum who uses a walker to help her move about had to climb many stairs to get into the venue and get to the bathroom - this led to her leaving early as she couldn't get to the bathrooom without assistance which was most embarrassing for her.
One of our more eccentric guests was accused of being intoxicated (completely untrue and embarrassing for us as hosts) early in the evening which led to a full BAN OF ALCOHOL to all of our adult guests. Following this ban, we were also told we had 15 minutes to wrap up our party and leave the premises - the icing on the cake after spending $1.5k. The manager did let us stay in the end but the stress of this entire debacle ruined our night.
My husband and I didnāt argue or complain with the management as we appreciate the club has rules. However we do want to share our experience with other families who might be thinking about this venue for a function - THIS IS NOT A CHILD FRIENDLY VENUE.
The food was nice and quick. The outdoor tables have...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhat an absolute garbage of a venue. If I could give 0 I would not hesitate. We went there for a familys birthday and the staff could not be any more disrespectful. I understand the procedure of signing in but we had our hands full with 2 kids and the sign in machines were busy. So we walked a little bit inside (Still stayed in the entry vicinity) to put the pram and other items in so we didnt have our hands full only to be told by the staff member RUDELY "You have to sign in". Yes we get it but are they that blind?
Next one of the kids brought a basketball so they can play on the basketball court and she was bouncing it inside gently (not as if anyone was being disturbed or things being broken) and was told rudely by a staff member "you cant be doing that in here". FOR HEAVENS SAKE THEY ARE A KID!!
Next it had rained and outside in the basketball area it was quite puddly. And kids being kids were splashing around in the puddles with no shoes on (again only kids around and not disturbing anyone) when a staff member pointed to kids and saying "Look at those kids, where are their parents?" Then tells the security guard "Go tell that kid to go inside and find his parents".
Also the food was extremely average. Wasn't even anything to rave about. There are many other clubs that have way better food and are way more kid friendly.
If you have kids you're in for a NIGHTMARE of an experience. Instead of trying to eat dinner in peace your anxiety will spike out of control because of how kids are treated by staff.
KID FRIENDLY? False advertising...
