Gourmet Butchery Greenacre — Local services in Sydney

I’ve bought meat from this shop a few times, and twice now I’ve had a very disappointing experience with their diced lamb.

The first time was during Ramadan 2024 — I bought a kilo of diced lamb for a barbecue. It looked fresh and appetising in the display, but as soon as I got home and opened the bag, the smell (zinkha) filled the whole house. I thought maybe it was just a one-off.

Fast forward about a year later, I bought half a kilo of small diced lamb, and the exact same thing happened, strong unpleasant smell as soon as the bag was opened.

This tells me it’s not just bad luck, but an issue with how the diced lamb is stored or prepared. Very disappointing considering how good it looks in the display.

I hope management takes this seriously, because fresh meat should never...

I recently visited this butchery, and I was seriously impressed. The meat was incredibly fresh well-trimmed, and full of flavour you can really tell they take pride in what they do. The staff were super friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to give recommendations based on what I was cooking. Everything was clean and organised, everything looked professional and well cared for. This family butcher is clean, affordable, fresh, has gourmet meats especially Wagyu and their Kofta is delicious, they have a large range of meats poultry, frozen meals, a range of species and pickled foods. I’d give them a 10/10 for customer service and cleanliness! I’ll definitely be back even though it’s not my area I’m happy to drive that extra time to buy my meats from them that’s how happy and satisfied...
