The Butchers Cafe — Restaurant in Sydney

Coffee was good but the food was terrible. Last week I tried the cheeseburger; the meat patty was about 3mm thick, extremely dry and completely tasteless. One of the worst burgers I've ever been served and frankly McDonald's would have been more enjoyable and better value for money. I gave them another chance today when I ordered the steak sandwich. After roughly a 15 minute wait (the shop was not at all busy) I was brought a miserable piece of micron-thin "sizzle steak" that had been put between two slices of bread and simply toasted in a sandwich press. This $18 toasted sandwich didn't even have tomatoes or cheese or anything identifiable other than Dijon mustard. I took one bite and spat it out. So, fool me twice, shame on me. As I said at the start, the coffee was good but I will never again waste my money on food there.

A raw & old croissant ??? Inside was sludgy, was not cooked properly outside was hard as a rock which means its been over atleast 3 to 4 days old. It was stale. Could have warmed it up presented it a bit better on the plate as well? Coffee was nothing to scream about either. I found the staff quite oblivious and not attentive. My friend slipped on the downward step luckily I caught her nobody bothered to notice and ask if she was ok?? Maybe you should fix it and make something more visible before someone trips over and hits their head on the tread?? I see lots of people in the morning and not sure what all the fuss is about. Ordered a bacon and egg wrap for $10 with bbq sauce and aioli. Sat there waiting for more than 20 minutes and watched while two other customers ordered and received their bacon and egg rolls well before we got our food. Looks like they practice a “first in last out” strategy when it comes to customer control. Despite this frustration i thought I’d let the food do the talking. How disappointed I was, not only were the eggs over cooked, but there was absolutely no sign of the sauces I asked for on this dry, unseasoned mess. To top it off after biting what I thought was a crispy piece of bacon I found myself actually picking egg shells out of my mouth.
