Dined with my family at The Ranch, and unfortunately, the overall experience left much to be desired. While there were a few positive aspects, such as generous serving sizes and ample chips, the food quality and limited drink selection were major letdowns. Despite making a reservation ahead of time, we were dismayed to discover that our table number had been reserved for another party. Eventually, we found an unnumbered table, which only added to the confusion for the restaurant staff. To exacerbate matters, the counter staff repeatedly asked for our table number whenever we placed an order. Each time, we had to explain that we had not been assigned a specific table number. About the Food: We ordered a medium rare steak, hoping for a flavourful and perfectly cooked piece of meat. However, the flavour failed to meet our expectations. The taste was disappointing to the point where I wouldn't even consider paying the lunch special price for it. Additionally, the classic chicken parmigiana, although it looked visually appealing, lacked any distinguishing flavours. It was an average dish that didn't stand out in any way. The Angus beef burger was acceptable, but I've had better burgers at more affordable prices elsewhere. Overall, there was nothing remarkable or memorable about the food, except perhaps for the generous amount of chips provided. The limited drink selection (non-alcoholic) was another disappointment. There were only two juice flavour options for our little one and one was unavailable. It's frustrating when the restaurant fails to cater to the preferences of its young patrons. Furthermore, the arcade area within the restaurant was a letdown. Despite its presence, none of the games seemed to be functioning properly. It left us wondering why the arcade was there at all. We can only hope that the management has plans to address and fix this issue in the future. On a positive note, the playground slide provided some entertainment for our child, and they enjoyed that aspect of the dining experience.

unfortunately i can’t say i was very impressed with the ranch, which is disappointing as we are relatively new to the area and we’ve been wanting to try this place for a while. we ordered the chicken parmigiana with gravy and the rump steak with mash and chips. the chicken parmigiana arrived with no gravy, and it was very average with not much taste. the steak arrived with a mountain of chips (i ordered mash as well, which didn’t arrive) and was a bit pink for a medium. the steak had pieces of fat that I had to cut off and it was a bit gritty and chewy. you get a tiny sauce pot with the steak which wasn’t enough considering the amount of food you get on the plate, and i also had to share it with the chicken parmigiana as they didn’t get their gravy. despite not particularly enjoying the taste of the meals you do get a large portion size - if the food was tastier it would be great value, but the food is extremely average quality. for a $70 bill, the coke jug shouldn’t haven’t been the most enjoyable aspect of our meal… we would have spoken to a waiter/waitress about the missing items but as it’s order at the counter or with QR code they don’t seem very approachable…the table sat near us also immediately complained about something when they received their food so that was our sign to leave. when we entered there was no hostess to greet or sit us despite there being a counter and a sign to say wait to be seated. i look forward to trying the ranch again in the next few months to see if their quality and attention to detail improves.

The Ranch formerly known as El Rancho Hotel has been around for a long time and it’s starting to show. Having said that it’s still a great place to visit for a couple of drinks and a good feed. The customer base seems to be a mix of office workers, local families and tradies. The bistro is quite large and has a kids playground and entertainment area that’s semi separate to the main dining section. The bistro menu is quite extensive and fair value. We have had the tradies lunch special (only available in the public bar) a couple of times and it is amazing value. $18 for a choice of one of 4 main meals, rump steak, chicken schnitzel, battered fish or Caesar salad, and your choice of good selection of beers, wines or soft drinks. The rump steak was a decent size, tasty and almost perfectly cooked on both visits and the mashed potato ( chips also available) was pretty good too, the salad salad and choice of sauce is a bonus. Do note that the bistro has the much bigger menu, proper dining tables and the ambience is quite different to the public bar with endless sports on multiple big screens.

Christmas Lunch 2022

What an absolute shambles and definitely not worth the near $400 I paid for myself and 2 elderly parents who were visiting from the UK.

Firstly, I had booked and paid for table for 3 people to be seated at table that was only set for 2. Whilst on our way to the table we noticed that there was a huge queue for the food, even though it was not stated on the menu as a buffet style Christmas Lunch but advertised as a Set Menu Christmas Lunch which I feel is false advertising and for the price you would expect table service!!

Once we had got ourselves a drink and settled, we proceeded to go and queue for our lunch. Whilst in the queue I mentioned to a team member (Georgia I think her name was wearing a red t-shirt) that my table was only set for 2 and not 3 as I had booked and explained where I was seated, she told me she would go and sort it. 5 mins or so later she came up to me and asked to show her where I was seated. So, I had to leave my parents in the queue to go and show her where I was seated just to get a setting sorted which I had already paid for.

The queue for the food was ridiculous and we queued for near enough 45 mins just to get our lunch. Having an elderly mother who has mobility issues this is totally unacceptable plus the fact that we were seated the furthest away from the buffet despite paying for 2 senior tickets. Also, there was a considerable amount of other elderly customers that had to queue with a couple who were older than my parents behind us in the queue.

Once we got to the front of the queue, there was a stack of dirty plates with them having the remains of the previous customers dinner stuck to them and so we had to wait for clean plates to be brought to out.

Once we got clean plates the food was not worth the money. There were items missing that were stated in the menu (no cocktail sauce for the prawns no Chipolatas) and I did not trust the oysters that had been sitting there for God knows how long. The vegetables were all undercooked and hard and the turkey and ham was over cooked and dry!

There was no service at all and all the staff I had seen on the floor were just walking around smiling not doing much with multiple tables that needed clearing and customers sitting with their dirty plates. There seemed to be no organisation, leadership or direction from management!! It felt to me that it was all about how many people they could fit in over the quality of food and service!

The only saving grace was the bartender Braeden who was very apologetic and understanding about the...

I am a Seniors card holder in NSW.

I frequented the Ranch Bistro establishment on Saturday 05/03/16 for a meal.

I noticed that the Bistro has a separate menu with about 8 items under the heading "Seniors Menu". The prices for listed items were lower than the prices listed in the normal menu.

I asked the person serving me if there was any difference in the size of meals between the normal menu and the Seniors menu.

I was told that the size of the seniors meals is smaller which annoyed me because seniors are not receiving a discount at this establishment. just less product.

I asked to speak to the manager who when questioned about this, told me that their research showed that seniors eat less food so portions are smaller.

I am disgusted that this bistro is clearly advertising a "Seniors Menu" which gives one the impression that seniors will enjoy a reduced price on certain dishes but in fact, we are being mislead and duped because we are receiving less product for a lower price and not a discount off the regular price for the same meal.

This practice must be stopped and this institution made accountable for its actions and either supply seniors with a true discount on regular dishes or be honest about what it is actually doing which is making profit out of seniors by supplying smaller helpings.

I do not wish to even give this institution any stars but in order to post this review I am forced to give it at least 1 star.

What they are doing flies in the face of what the seniors card program is attempting to do which is, to allow participating product and service suppliers with an opportunity to enjoy a real discount on the regular product or service on offer.

I have lodged a complaint with...
