I visited The Twelve Cafe on New Year’s Day as it was thankfully one of the few Cafes open.
The food and ambience were terrific. There appeared to be minimal indoor seating, but more abundant outdoor seating, which is perfect if the weather is nice. It definitely seems to be a favourite spot amongst locals, and we could see why, given the satisfying portions and affordable prices. It is to be noted that they do charge a 15% public holiday fee.
During my visit I ordered a smoothie and the Tradie Wrap, with halloumi on the side, and my friend ordered a Flat White and the Halloumi Roll, most of which arrived relatively quickly. Unfortunately, after receiving our food, my smoothie had not yet arrived, so I asked a waiter, who headed into the kitchen to inquire, but did not return with an update. Texture was on the thin side. The sweetness level was just right for me, which is to say none - other than that inherrent in the milk. So you could taste the hint of bitterness of the matcha. I liked it that it was actually hot (temperature) - most places do it just warm. But towards the end of the cup, there was the residual, clumpy powder. Anyway,,...
