A great spot to go to for brunch. Food 1)Twin Bao This was amazing! Very tasty! The flavours were 100%! Portion size was huge! Probably the biggest most tasty bao buns I’ve ever seen and had! It was also slightly crispy on the outside which made it taste even better. 2) Biscoff brioche french toast This was a bit disappointing! It looked better than it tasted! The cream was really buttery and couldn’t taste the biscoff at all. Great concept just lacked execution in flavour! 3) Croque Monsieur with shoe string fries This was an amazing dish! We enjoyed it and it was really tasty, very cheesy! Service: The lady that was seating people today - Sunday 22nd September 2024 around 10:30am needs a major attitude check! She was not friendly at all! She had so much attitude and seemed angry before we even asked for a table. We always say if you’re having a bad day and you work in service industry; stay home, call in sick, or fake it whilst at work. We’ve eaten here before so we know the food is great which is why we stayed, otherwise if we had never eaten here before we would have left at the beginning because of your bad attitude. Despite the negative vibes lady; I’d still go back and recommend this place because the food is great.

I had heard good things about this place, plus it has outdoor seating so I could bring my dog. First impressions were poor as no one came to clear and wipe out dirty table for quite some time and no dog bowl was offered, which is quite unusual for a 'dog friendly' cafe. We were given menus but could also scan a QR for an online menu. The two menus were slightly different and I thought I ordered the Biscoff french toast but actually received the fruit and rhubarb. It looked great but was disappointing as the French toast tasted like it has been cooked in a pan that had previously been used to cook onion, so that was the overriding flavour. My partner has the croque madame which he really enjoyed. I also had a detox juice which was lovely. Service was poor with very little interaction or personality. I'm not sure I'd come back based on the overall atmosphere and my disappointing meal.

Picked 'Eggs Benedict' and 'Spring Field' total cost $37.9; Actual Price $18.95, booking through thefork). Eggs Benedict - One of the poached eggs was a bit overcooked; however, the other one was very creamy. - Had it with bacon which mixed really nicely with the crispy Croissant and Hollandaise Sauce prepared with a tiny amount of rocket salad Spring Field (My personal favourite of the two) - Mushrooms were very flavourful - The pickle pineapple provide a nice sour and sweet taste when mixed with the soya bread and the more salty cheese, mushroom and hummus. Customer Service - Super friendly - Clean bathroom, family friendly as well

Coffee: Wooden Whisk Blend (Via Single Origin Roasters) Passion: 8/10 Crema: 8/10

On the recommendation of a twitter friend who said I had to try this place out, I did as told and sought out this awesome (wooden) cafe. The atmosphere in here is so distinct. Think... modern wood and stone. Nice, warm, and inviting. Certainly a great start even before ordering the coffee.

But as it was the coffee I was here to try... I was thrilled to see that these guys not only offer single origin coffees, they rotate them through out the week. It is this sort of thing which will enhance the experience of customers and gradually show them the range that coffee can offer (in the right hands).

The first one I had here was a double espresso from the Costa Rica single origin they had going. It was a full bodied, syrupy, dense coffee that had a slight zesty mid range flavour and a smooth warm finish. Very enjoyable. As the cup cooled down I was able to smell a hibiscus flower and honey aroma. This would probably make a very interesting batch coffee....

I followed that up with an espresso from their house blend (with a dash of water in the cup to help it open up). It was surprisingly good as well. Slightly more citrusy than the single origin, but equally robust and complex. Nothing to complain about here either... :-)

With service this friendly, atmosphere this inviting and coffee this good, it is hard to go past as the go to cafe for this area.

N.B. No #powerwhoring available (at least none visible) There is WiFi available (just ask the staff) Parking is a bit of a pain so come by train and walk up from...

If you’re looking for a hidden gem, look no further than The Wooden Whisk! My family and I recently dined there, and it was a delightful experience from start to finish.

The atmosphere struck the perfect balance between cozy and elegant, making it an ideal spot for a family dinner. The staff greeted us warmly and provided attentive service throughout the evening, making us feel right at home.

Now, let’s talk about the food! I ordered the steak, and it was absolutely fantastic—cooked to perfection and bursting with flavour. Each bite was a testament to the chef’s skill. My family members enjoyed their dishes as well, each raving about the quality and presentation.

To finish off our meal, we couldn’t resist trying the tiramisu. It was heavenly—light, creamy, and just the right amount of sweetness. It’s a must-try!

Overall, The Wooden Whisk exceeded our expectations with its delicious food and excellent service. It’s a fantastic find that we’ll definitely be returning to. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy a...
