Universal Burger Co — Restaurant in Sydney

What. A. Joke. We just wanted some hotdogs and doughnuts before going into the cinema next door thinking it would be something quick to grab. After waiting 20 minutes the hotdogs were ready and we got called over. We asked where the doughnuts were and they were confused. Our receipt said we bought 4 "muffins" (which was more than the doughnuts so we were overcharged). We then had to wait a further 10 minutes for them to figure out what we ordered and eventually cook the doughnuts. We were now late for our movie and weren't allowed to bring the food in with us forcing us to refund our movie tickets we had booked. We begrudgingly went and sat down to eat our food. Upon opening the hotdogs we wondered what took them so long to heat up a sausage and dump it on some bread. It was ok but not worth the wait or price. The doughnuts. My lord the doughnuts. The "cooked on demand" doughnuts. A word of advice: take them off the menu. Just don't have them. Taking some pre-made doughnuts and throwing them into a deep fryer is just a joke. They just soaked up the oil and every bite just came with a mouthful of oil. And $4? You can get freshly made doughnuts from donut king for much less. They completely ruined our day. We don't even want to go anywhere near this place...

Ordered the fish burger, the menu image shows a substantial golden tempura battered fillet.

I received a dark brown small fillet, clearly using old oil/overcooked it.

I simply asked the cashier that the fish I received is different to the one on the picture and if they could cook me another fish that looks like the one on the menu,

They took my burger to the kitchen, I went back to my seat, I could hear the workers arguing in the kitchen (very unprofessional)

I was then called back to the counter after just walking back to my table, they didn't bother coming to me.

They brought back the original dark brown fish fillet burger and told me to 'taste' it to just 'try it'.

Again I'm not here to argue I just want what I paid my money for. I was argued with, asked if I knew what a barramundi is and they just couldn't own up to their mistake. Appalling behaviour.

They said the reason why it's brown and not the same is because they recently swapped to barramundi.

I stated the issue wasn't the type of fish it's that the batter is Dark brown instead of a flakey golden tempura.

This went around in circles until I asked for a refund,

Terrible experience. Will not step foot in this...

Fabulous Feast at Universal Burger Co in Auburn, Sydney😀

We were on the way to Lakemba for shopping when hubby suggested we check out Universal Burger Co for lunch so we took a little detour & WOW, WOW, WOW!😍 We were converted & there is no going back to regular burgers after tasting these gourmet burgers!!!😋
