Tried it on a Saturday night. Waited for about half an hour for a table. No service, chaotic, self serve your food, drinks, cutlery. Ordered wine and counter didn't even provide wine glasses and we had to ask for it. Plates were black in color so I can't even see if its clean or not.
The wagyu looks nice and had nice marbling when it's raw but it just tasted meh (tasteless and a little chewy) when cooked. Lots of meat and the only seafood choice was calamari. Marinated meats are generally better than unmarinated meat but the meat still have a lot of chewy bits. Beef tongue was disgusting as its too thick and tends to overcook , they should have sliced it Thinly.
Calamari was tender and good and side dishes were quite nice and decently stocked. There are sweet potato noodle, seaweed, kimchi, pickles, pickled cucumber, Beansprouts, hasnbrown, fried rice. This is where I gave the 1 star.
Overcrowded, noisy, seats are very close to each other, smoky as hell (I can feel our lungs calling out for help to get out of there). Doesn't seem to have any ventilation and the pipes don't seem to suck much smoke in. I think they used very lousy quality charcoal and that is why the bbq generates a humongous amount of smoke. I am surprised nobody has made a complaint yet on the amount of pollution it has made to the environment. I pity the staff working there. Staff here was mostly Chinese, have yet to hear a Korean staff.
Lots of people queuing for this place but I really don't know what's the big deal. $29.90 per person isn't that cheap for the amount of chaos and trauma that we had to go through. Won't be back even if you pay me. Was so glad to get out of there. And oh I am still trying to get the smell off of my car, as we parked there close to the...
Read moreThis restaurant used to be one of my favorite Korean bbq restaurants however after our most recent dining experience here, I’m not sure if I’m keen on coming back. First of all, I have noticed that the quality of the meat has changed. The pork belly is pretty much 90% fat and it was so thin that as soon as you put it on the grill, it just melts and sticks onto the grill. Secondly, the service that we received from staff had been so poor. The 2 tables they had allocated us were already taken so we were left just standing there, in everyone’s way. I admit this could’ve been an honest mistake on their part but the way it was handled was poor. The staff just kept passing around the docket we were given which specified our table numbers before they decided they would sit us down on to the tables nearby. After that, as were finally settling in and had gotten some of our food from the buffet station, the staff decided they would move us to “a bigger table” as there were 7 of us. They gave us a table outside which was obviously not “a bigger table” as were squashed like sardines to a corner. We then spoke to one of the staff and requested if we could get a bigger table like the first one they gave us. One staff member also “guaranteed” she would give us the bigger table but that did not happen. Another staff member said they would get the manager but nothing also happened. To prevent anymore issues, we just kept quiet and tried to enjoy the food as much as we can as we wanted to have a nice family dinner.
Overall, my family and I were quite disappointed at the service we had. It could’ve just been very busy night for them but it definitely makes me have second thoughts whether to come...
Read moreI’ve been to this restaurant twice now and overall really enjoy it. The prices are great value, there’s a wide selection of meats, the food is delicious, and the staff are super friendly and welcoming.
That said, I’d like to share one piece of feedback for the owner. During our visit last Saturday, the dining experience was disrupted by an unpleasant incident between guests. A group of three young diners were bringing their dogs through the indoor area to reach the outdoor dining area. They had called ahead to confirm the restaurant is pet-friendly and were following instructions.
However, two older customers reacted aggressively, shouting that dogs weren’t allowed and confronting the group very rudely. Despite the three explaining the situation, the older couple wouldn’t back down. They had already finished their meal but continued to escalate things, chasing the group outside, yelling, filming them, and creating a scene for nearly an hour. The entire atmosphere inside became very tense and uncomfortable for all diners.
When I stepped outside to grab food, I asked what was happening and learned the details. In the end, a staff member had to take both parties to the police station to resolve it. It felt very unfair to the dog owners who had done the right thing. If the restaurant confirms it’s pet-friendly and outdoor dining is available, customers should be supported in accessing that space, even if it means passing through indoors briefly.
Despite the incident, I’d still come back because the food and service are great. Just hoping in future, similar situations are better handled to protect everyone’s right to a peaceful...
