I cannot recommend this place more (caveats below, worth a read). At the right time of day, under the right manager (you know, if you know) this place shines as a hidden gem.
Huge props to the kitchen, who gets the temperature right on the steaks every time, with some really fresh sides; if you prefer salads over chips, ask for their lemon dressing. 🥩🥗🍽️
Bar staff are engaging and receptive. Those beautiful ladies know who they are 😘.
After 9pm can be hit and miss; management isn't so interested in duty of care, and security often takes breaks to play pool while patrons are harrased outside. They ask you to leave, sober or not, thirty minutes before closing time, when taxis are not running. The one time I pushed back, security hounded me until quarter to closing, because the night staff wanted to go home early 🙄 (you have opening times for a reason, talk to management)
Come between 10am and 5pm, and I guarantee you a good experience, food that puts professional bistro's to shame and certain services that exceed expectations. The player lounge is a dud, but that's par for the course in NSW.
Edit: new chef in May 2025 re: undercooked rare steak (see attached image) 😺🥫. How disappointing!
Will keep coming, because you've made me feel safe in the past (as a western Sydney Gay man) and I'll keep commenting on exceptionally bad service, cause you can always improve on bad staffing. Your move Westmead...
Read moreNOT SAFE FOR THE LADIES ⚠️⛔️ (This happened a couple of days back) Let me tell you what happened. I had a drink on my hand and I went to look at the boys playing the pool. First aggressive act: The security disrespectfully warned me not to take the drink close to the pool which I obeyed. Another friend of mine came inside and I asked him to take my drink outside because I wanted to stay around the pool and the security had asked me not take it around there. Second aggressive act: The security there came aggressively walking to me shouting “What did you say to me?” while I had only asked my friend what I mentioned above in my mother tongue(obviously not English). Third act of aggression: Then another of my friend, out of fear, came to defend me trying to calm the security down and explain to him that I had told nothing but to take the drink away. The security was extremely aggressive and pushed him very hard and shouted at us again. We kept our calm, got out without drinking three of the beers we had paid for. We wanted to talk to the manager as the situation felt in-justifying. Explained everything to him and asked what can be the next step taken. He simply said! “Nothing! Just write a google review!” So I guess thats...

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to share some concerns regarding my recent experience at your venue, particularly under the new management.
After a three-month ban, I returned to the pub and spoke with the manager, who informed me that I have been banned for life. This decision seems unjust, especially since my ban stemmed from patrons following me in the gaming room while I was losing, a situation I explained to the manager. His response was dismissive, suggesting that my feelings were merely a result of being a gambler.
I also attempted to reach you the following day to discuss this matter directly, but unfortunately, I was unable to connect.
I believe it’s important for you to be aware of these issues, as they may affect the overall atmosphere and reputation of your establishment. Thank you for considering...
