Zetland Ivory Thai — Restaurant in Sydney

Wasted our time... Walked by after going to swimming pool and thought we'd try their restaurant for our first time, and saw "Open" sign by Menu log, also led light sign said "OPEN" but door was locked, but man opened door and hesitated and said they didn't open until 4:30pm but let us in anyway, we were their first customer that evening, as it was 4:20pm, so we took a seat and they gave us a menu each, and we chose our meals, then the last came back with specials menu. I don't normally bother with specials but I was hungry so we thought about it and decided to get Menu A for ~$50 (vege spring rolls, panang curry, stir fry, thai fried rice) plus drinks on top of that, but then when I ordered it they said it was "Cash Only" if we wanted something from their specials menu... but we only had mobile phone with card payment and nearest ATM was 16 min walk return, but we were annoyed as we'd already wasted time choosing our meals twice, so we left and drove elsewhere for dinner. They should have had a big sign "Cash Only" on their specials menu or at least mention that to customers when you give them the menu so you don't waste our time choosing a meal when we might not even have cash handy. If you waste customer time you miss out on them trying your food and potential repeat business turnover and opportunity to profit if they enjoy it, and you lose recommendations to grow or maintain your local customer base. Maybe they already have enough local customers...

If they didn't have those stupid "Cash only" specials we would have ordered two meals for ~$40 plus drinks by card and...

Thai flare, and excellence at a reasonable price can still be had. This is a wonderful Thai Restaurant. Is a marvelous surprise, Excellent service, extremely friendly team, great food, wonderful lunch time deals which include a large varied selection of exotic Thai food. Very nice homemade dishes and further to this there’s a full marvelous menu to choose from for some very good tantalizing taste sensations of meals made on premises. Very good quality sensations, that with every bite leave you blissful. A great non alcoholic drink selection with really everything you would want. Something as simple as the wrong protein nearly killed my sister. 21/02/2025 My brother inlaw ordered dinner for the family, Including a CHICKEN LAKSA! She had 3 spoonfuls of the curry and quickly realised there was seafood in it. She has a severe seafood allergy. Her husband went through it and there was no CHICKEN and ONLY PRAWNS!
