Wild Rivers Escape Restaurant — Restaurant in Tasmania

I’m not generally one to post Google reviews and am not a sooky kind of person but the food we were served tonight was so mind-boggingly bad that I felt it had to be done for the feedback of the restaurant and for anyone considering eating there. In particular, the “Yiros” has absolutely no business being on your menu if this is how you are serving it up. The wrap contained cooked chicken and a Greek salad - with feta cheese, lettuce, olives and cucumber which was then TOASTED! The result was an inedible sloppy, oily and watery mess which I still can’t believe was served up to us. To serve this to a paying customer clearly shows that you take absolutely no pride in the food you are preparing. Anyone who has spent more than five minutes in their kitchen knows that you don’t toast a salad in a wrap. A basic Google search would show you how to properly construct a chicken wrap. In addition to this, the Salmon we received was barely cooked and we weren’t even asked on our preferred doneness when ordering. The worst food I have ever been served in any restaurant, ever. We had 2 wonderful dinner experiences at this lovely place in Strahan, five star! We arrived late on a Friday after a long drive, and they were probably hoping to close, but served us a delicious dinner. My husband really liked the prawns, and I did too, when we came back the next night. We made a tentative reservation for the following night, and I confirmed it the next day as we were walking by, though I'm not really sure they take reservations. When we came back on Saturday, after watching The Ship that Never Was local play, the place was packed, but they gave us fantastic service and looked after us. Ordered the Tasmanian Salmon with rocket mash and veggies. The dish was below average and not much thought and effort went into the dish. The mash was really dry and unflavoured, steamed veggies were literally just that and not even seasoned and fish was ok (I can make better salmon at home). The service was mediocre.
