Read moreThis place seams great and I can see the appeal especially for people with dogs. But unfortunately I witnessed something rather disturbing today whilst I was trying to order. The cafe had a food handler working in their kitchen with rather long manicured nails. What was more disgusting was seeing her picking up and moving food around on the plate with her finger nails! As someone who’s worked in the hospitality industry for many many years I question this cafes food health and safety standards?! Have these people got food handling certificates because if they did, they’d know that having long manicured nails, nail polish and rings all over your fingers is not permitted under the food health and safety laws and regulations of Victoria. As a result of seeing this I then observed multiple staff with nail polish and rings all over their fingers. I also witnessed a server grabbing the cup from the rim and handing it to a customer which is also rather dirty food handling practice. So yeah great place to take your dog but the food handler preparing your food outback is literally nailing...
Read morePost skydive it was time to fill the belly with some good food overlooking the beautiful coast. My friend and her boys brought me here because A. the food is good B. the view is good and C. there are dogs. Today is was busy. Very busy and we almost couldn’t get a table to eat out nachos and fish n chips. Located centrally to the beach, the Salty Dog attracts a variety of people but of course, many with dogs. Menu is simple and food tasty. Coffee I’m told is good too. Dietaries catered for. The staff are flat out on a day like today but always smiling, helpful and eager to please. There is a play area for kids, high chairs and even part of the menu that caters for the little ones. Takeaway food is also available. Walk to the beach with your tasty treats and enjoy because it really is a stunning part of Torquay. I’d like to have put those arty food photos in but heck, hungry fingers came first. Wheelchair friendly. Good...
