Saltydog Cafe - found in Torquay, near Yellow Bluff and nestled in front of Zeally Bay, with parking nearby - this cafe is the perfect spot for a meal or drink. Most days they operate from 6 am - 3 pm and an hour longer on Fridays.

They sell a range of merchandise, have a wide menu selection and great coffee. With rustic picnic tables and benches outside and a generously sized function room inside, the Salty Dog Cafe caters to various clientele and occasions. Staff are friendly and attentive and clearly enjoy working there.

Lunch Recommendations

Soba Noddles Salad- added chicken tenders sitting on a bed of baby spinach, pickled ginger [yum], wakame, edamame, cucumber with drizzled furikake and miso dressing.

The Ocean Grind coffee blend has an intense and slightly bitter flavour - perfect as a long black - great for the day's start or after a long beach walk.

Green Goddess Smoothie - a large protein hit filled with spinach, peanut butter, banana chunks complete with coconut milk and flakes on top. *It was that good I went back for another later in the week!

The Saltydog Cafe vibe is chilled-out, the view superb, the food healthy and reasonably priced - worth a...

This place seams great and I can see the appeal especially for people with dogs. But unfortunately I witnessed something rather disturbing today whilst I was trying to order. The cafe had a food handler working in their kitchen with rather long manicured nails. What was more disgusting was seeing her picking up and moving food around on the plate with her finger nails! As someone who’s worked in the hospitality industry for many many years I question this cafes food health and safety standards?! Have these people got food handling certificates because if they did, they’d know that having long manicured nails, nail polish and rings all over your fingers is not permitted under the food health and safety laws and regulations of Victoria. As a result of seeing this I then observed multiple staff with nail polish and rings all over their fingers. I also witnessed a server grabbing the cup from the rim and handing it to a customer which is also rather dirty food handling practice. So yeah great place to take your dog but the food handler preparing your food outback is literally nailing...

Post skydive it was time to fill the belly with some good food overlooking the beautiful coast. My friend and her boys brought me here because A. the food is good B. the view is good and C. there are dogs. Today is was busy. Very busy and we almost couldn’t get a table to eat out nachos and fish n chips. Located centrally to the beach, the Salty Dog attracts a variety of people but of course, many with dogs. Menu is simple and food tasty. Coffee I’m told is good too. Dietaries catered for. The staff are flat out on a day like today but always smiling, helpful and eager to please. There is a play area for kids, high chairs and even part of the menu that caters for the little ones. Takeaway food is also available. Walk to the beach with your tasty treats and enjoy because it really is a stunning part of Torquay. I’d like to have put those arty food photos in but heck, hungry fingers came first. Wheelchair friendly. Good...

The infamous @standpipesmc postie riding bakery destroying postie bike gang swept thru here on a stunning 30° day and man where our hungry stomachs satisfied. As per usual, we all ended up getting something different and here are the reviews: Brekkie pie - “pretty bloody good” Veggie burger - “probably the best I’ve had” Walnut and pumpin roll - this was mine, it was super unique and I loved it a lot, this would be a regular of mine if I lived locally Brekkie burgers (1 veg/ 1 with meat) - filling, tasty and “they nailed the classic” Salami toastie - “was soo concerned on getting to my cronut to focus on the toastie” Chef Mel, an absolute fox, hand delivered the food and was super happy to hear the glowing reviews. Thanks guys we will be back
