I attended Banjo's bakery this afternoon and purchased some food to take back to Melbourne for my son. I asked the young lady if any of the food had nuts, as my son is anaphylaxis and can literally die if he eats anything that contains nuts. She was clearly annoyed and frustrated that I even asked this question and advised that there may be some traces of nuts, which I understand.
After deciding that I'd purchase some food, I politely asked her if she could use fresh tongs for the pastry which was to be consumed by my anaphylactic son. To my shock, she was annoyed even more, rolling her eyes and showing frustration.
After she came back with the tongs, I decided to not purchase the food, as I was quite shocked and upset that she showed no empathy or care in relation the risks my son would have with food that could be potentially cross-contaminated.
Unfortunately, it's difficult enough having a child with food allergies as it is, and very distressing & frustrating for a parent when staff don't respect the situation and risks involved.
I will never come back to this store again, and will certainly post my experience via my on-line blog ensuring other people with allergies are aware of the careless attitude at...
Read moreI recently visited this restaurant and was left thoroughly disappointed by their deceptive pricing practices. The sign prominently displayed that six pies were priced at $39.50, but when I received the bill, I was shocked to see the total was $49.
When I questioned the staff about the discrepancy, their response was infuriating: they claimed that the price board hadn’t been updated in time?!
Not only did this feel like a blatant attempt to mislead customers, but the staff also showed little remorse for the mistake. I left feeling cheated and frustrated.
If you’re planning to visit, double-check the prices before ordering, or better yet, save yourself the hassle and take your business elsewhere. Deceptive practices like this should not...
Read moreI stopped here for lunch on a roadtrip and was really impressed.
My almond milk latte was divine, as were the pies, sausage rolls and quiche. They have smaller sizes so you can mix and match your lunch! The chocolate mud cake muffin was so fresh, moist and delicious. They give you a buzzer to collect your choices so you can relax at the tables while you wait. Having a sauce and cutlery station was great for self service.
The atmosphere was airy, light, modern and not overly packed in with tables and chairs. Having public toilets was really appreciated too.
The only improvement would be more cheerful staff and recyclable plates to eat off. I'll definitely go again on our way back through! I highly recommend...
