Went for dinner at the end of September last year to celebrate my birthday with a small group of friends. Having peanut allergies my entire life I am quite aware of what I can eat and can not, I ordered a pesto bruschetta for the table, knowing that one of the main ingredients in pesto is pine nuts, I started to eat it as I have no allergy to these specific nuts. After taking one bite I began to have an allergic reaction so I questioned the staff on the ingredients. They then proceeded to say it has pine nuts as it is pesto, but they would check with the chef what other ingredients were used. They then returned saying that they put peanuts and hazelnuts in their pesto (however this is not specified whatsoever on the menu) and continued to blame me for not telling them of my allergy beforehand. Knowing full well peanuts are not an ingredient in pesto and that this is quite a strange addition... I was offered a Panadol (which does nothing for allergies) and was told to tell them next time (which there won't be) of any allergies before I order.
I am aware that this could have been easily avoided, however as a very common allergy and as an unusual ingredient for this particular dish I was very disappointed in the staff's response to the situation with continuing to blame me for the entire situation. I did not kick up a fuss but merely questioned why I would be having a reaction to something I have eaten many times elsewhere, yet I was not offered any compensation, I still paid for the entree and not once did someone apologise for the "misunderstanding" it was all "you should have done this" or "you should have known". Staff then continued to tell me they had the same issue with a child earlier that day, who ate there with a more severe peanut allergy which was why they only had Panadol to offer as the child had the last of their allergy medication.
I am well aware that I am responsible for what I order and eat, knowing I have the allergies. However I know what I can and can not eat, and the way that this situation was handled was awful, continuous blame was placed on me, yes customers aren't always right, but they should be treated better than this.
Very disappointed in their service...
Read moreOver the last year I have been a patron at Momo at least 5 times and each time the standard of food and service has gotten worse and worse, but my Wife liked one of the items on the menu so we went with the "just give them one more chance"mentality. Well never again!.
For a special treat my Wife and I went into Momo for a late breakfast. the restaurant was completely empty and the waitress seemed more interested in gasbagging to the barista then taking our order and we waited 20min for her to take our order and drinks. after taking our order it took another 20 minutes for the waitress to tell me that the item that I ordered was not available anymore and had been phased out of the menu, (the menu is a printed a4 printed page, not updating it as you change a menu is just lazy, not telling front of house or having a waitress that ether does not know or doesn't care even worse).
We got our food about 25min later (so far waited for 1hr 5min) plate was freezing, bacon was cold, oily and barely cooked. toast actually wasn't toast but bread fried on a grill and was also oily and cold and the avocado had been mixed with so much lemon juice it retained no avocado flavour and was a sort of weird lemon paste that was not palatable. all in all a cold terrible attempt at a breakfast for 19 dollars a pop.
My wife's meal was average but was still cold and had oily barely cooked bacon.
A chef did come out and apologise for the original item not being available so I guess that is a tiny redeeming point.
There are at least 4 other Cafés and Restaurant's open in Traralgon that are open for breakfast that I have had favourable experiences that I will be going to from now on.
Momo will never get another red cent of my money or...

There is so much opportunity at this restaurant. MoMo is a beautiful establishment, and the upstairs area would be amazing for a function. Such a laid back vibe and definitely a step up for Traralgon.. However.. It was absolute chaos.. so disorganised. We walked in and just told to go see staff upstairs. Ok, go upstairs and there is a huge line of 1.people ordering food, 2. Ordering drinks, 3. Waiting to be shown their table.. we felt like "what are we supposed to Do?" You shouldn't feel like that in a restaurant, it's meant to be pretty straight forward. Anyway, finally get to the front of the line where we are met by Kaitlin. I don't think kaitlin wanted to be at work. Couldn't pay kaitlin to crack a smile if I tried. Stressfully picked our dinner (apparently kitchen had run out of everything today) and drinks under kaitlins mournful gaze and were told to find our own table. On our way my glass cracked in my partners hand (he's fine) no probs, new drink. Get our starter, plates cracked.. alright.. dinner comes, really not worth the money. Undercooked and bland. I just wanna go home, didn't even get my epic milkshake that I was so excited to come to this resteraunt for. In conclusion, was so excited to come here but was so disappointed by almost everything. I still have hope that it will improve and I will get my long awaited cookies and cream milkshake. But until then, I remain cautious.. P.S. hope Kaitlin has a better day tomorrow. P.P.S. Carmen was wonderful, she replaced our drink no problem, was very concerned about my partners safety.....
