Life long local who always loved this restaurant as a kid. We don't order from here often but our last two experiences have been, quite frankly, the worst customer experiences I've ever had.
Rang up to order takeaway using a menu I found online. I was told it was out of date when I asked for the vegetarian pasta. I asked if there was an alternative vegetarian pasta. The guy spoke to someone next to him who basically told him to hang up on me as opposed to bothering to ask the chef. I suggested they upload an up to date menu. The guy I was speaking to then said rather rudely "well, you're a local so why not just drive the five minutes down here and look at a menu here, then wait for your order". When I finally worked out my order, I wanted to pay over the phone. The guy on the phone complained at length about my wanting to do this, going on about a lady who had done it an hour before - whom he admitted he ended up hanging up on because of how she was giving the card details.
The next time we wanted to order from here, we decided to head down to the restaurant - in the hope we'd avoid the same experience. Unfortunately we encountered the same extremely rude man on the counter. I looked at a menu and told him what we'd like to order (one pizza, one pasta). Then asked how long it would be roughly (a very standard question for a takeaway order - and normally not something you have to ask for!). He just said well, the chef has to serve the whole restaurant first so it'll be a while and I can't give you a time. I asked if he could check with the chef, so we knew if we needed to wait there or go home and come back. He was extremely reluctant but eventually went. Came back with no answer. At this point, my partner stepped in and asked to speak to the manager. It was very noisy in the restaurant so we asked the manager to step outside - my partner is partly def due to tinitis and can't listen with that much background interference. The manager said he would come out so we went outside to wait. Then the rude man came out and said the manager would not be coming out. So we left.
It's such a shame that the other two businesses connected to Tony's via the local family give such an amazing food and service experience, and yet this business - the original Italian of Ulladulla - has...
Read moreLets start with a lot of positives, the food was excellent and had excellent flavour and taste, I ordered 2 pizzas the Napoletana and a Carlos special and they tasted delicious I was happy about this as I do believe food is the most important thing. I also ordered 2 pastas one of which was the bolognaise and it tasted pretty good. Food is the most important trait of a restaurant I believe which this restaurant achieved!. I would’ve given this place a 5 star but the customer service was not the best, I phones the restaurant to see if I could make a booking and after a lot of hesitation on the other end I was told that there was no free space But when I arrived and I asked the front desk if I could eat in they said that they had room outside when I looked they were plenty of seats, I was a bit disappointed in this as the restaurant makes delicious food which everyone should try. The person who served us was a bit unorganised is a sense and was a bit unsure about a lot of questions but that’s ok because we got the correct order which is good. Other than that I would definitely come back
Here are some important things to notes before coming -if you want a bottle of a drink you can only order that if you order TAKE AWAY you are only allowed canned drinks if you eat in -if you make a booking and they say there are full it’s worth turning up anyways if you are close to see if you can sit outside Good place...
Read moreI presented myself at Tony's pizza parlor the other night and perusing the selection of pizzas and making a decision on which one I required the one I purchased was a large and it was $20 he asked me if I'm paying cash or card and I said EFTPOS which to me is like cash I understand there are charges to the business or (running costs )so my pizza worked out to be $22 when on the menu board it was $20 thinking they have not updated their prices on the menu board I simply asked the question why is a charge of $2 on my bill he replied for using EFTPOS that is 10% which is I believe illegal they can only charge you a percentage of 0.2% to 1 % but I am no expert but I do know there should be signs posted or on the EFTPOS machine notifying you that there is a charge for using the service at no stage did I see evidence of that he should have said after he inquired with me if I'm paying cash or card and my reply was EFTPOS then he should have said there is a charge for using EFTPOS so I can make the decision whether or not I go ahead with the transaction but I was not privy to that information check your bills people and asked a question why I don't mind paying but I don't like to be ripped off either people need to make money in their business it left the sour taste of my mouth the pizza...
