Ulladulla Palace — Restaurant in Ulladulla

Food was passable. Would have probably come back again if not for the appalling way we were treated. They ask you every 5 minutes if they can clear your plate or if you have finished this dish and that. They did this twice and just when you think you are only imagining the hurry up treatment they interrupt and ask you if you would like any dessert. We were not even finished the mains yet! Then they come back yet again asking if we have finished, which we were not. Then 3 minutes later out of nowhere the lady comes with the bill and places it on the table and asks if she can clear the table. My kids eat slowly and they were still eating they didnt even get to finish their dinner. What the hell is with you ladies trying to move us out of there in such a hurry?? The time was 6:45pm (we arrived at 6pm) and the restaurant was all but empty. Only 2 other tables there who came after us and had only just started eating. So whats the rush? Never...

We saw the sign Vietnamese - We especially ordered from the Vietnamese menu - should have realized it’s Chinese by seeing the main menu - it was reasonable Chinese but definitely not Vietnamese !! what ever name you put on it !! We even paid extra thinking we were getting Vietnamese food! What we had was tasty but we should’ve had the lunch menu and in hind sight should’ve but we didn’t want Chinese!! The garlic pepper chicken and curry beef were incredibly disappointing. They had absolutely no flavor – it was worse than bland. It tasted like the dishes had been sitting in a pot for hours, with the flavors completely leached out, leaving a watery, almost sweaty taste.
