My usual haunt was still closed for the Christmas break when I went for my usual post-walkies coffee hit, so I ventured a bit further down the strip and discovered this new gem.

Decor was very eclectic with a mix of steam punk, retro poster art, pop culture knickknacks and the obligatory indoor plants which any on trend cafe should have. Sounds odd, but actually works really well. Not such a fan of the hessian bench seats (look great but not so nice to sit on) but apart from that the space was warm and inviting, as were the staff.

Excellent coffee and hands down some of the best croissants in Perth, as confirmed by my fussy toddler who ate the whole thing (and protested when mummy wanted some to try!).

Went down again a couple of days later to try out the breakfast offering, which did not disappoint.

Everywhere does pork belly these days, but not many do it was well as these guys in the Eggs Benny Bao Wow. Perfectly rendered, not too salty and without the tough overcooked bit at the bottom you so often get.

The zesty Asian inspired salad with a little kick of chili was the perfect accompaniment to the richness of the creamy hollandaise and pork belly. A bit of freshness, a bit of pickle and a little bit of crunch wrapped up in a fluffy bao bun. A well executed dish with excellent balance of flavours and textures.

Hubby had the salted beef hash, which was also met with a big tick of approval.

The little one again demolished a whole croissant, which had just been freshly baked on premises.

All in all, we were very impressed with this new kid on the block. Great food, great coffee, great service. Do yourself a favour and go check...

Step through the groovy alternative rope door swinging in the wind. Very small packed space.

This place had great vibes. Definitely hopping,…definitely socially active and ally based ownership. Black paint and steam punk pieces collectively fill the space between the bright memorabilia. Awards across the back wall behind the counter. One has to say ‘with a crowd like this, and awards like that… expectations are high.’

We literally just went out for a quick brunch.

Some of the most attentive, and welcoming restaurant service in Perth. Others should take note. We quickly found seats and were given menus with a smile. Then placed our order at the counter.

With everything on the menu so unique and fairly priced it was hard to decide. Everything came out beautiful and timely. How refreshing! So glad we came.

Then, shocker, someone came by to check on our food as well as the customers around us.

Parking was easy to find down the street. Seating was easy to get on a ‘busier than usual’ Sunday just before noon. The menu was very flexitarian based… meaning so many alternatives for each dish to make it equally good for different diet types. Vegan, vegetarian, gluten free etc.

One of my favourite dining experiences in Perth.

We will most definitely be back with bigger appetites and...

**Review edited after hearing from the feedback from the cafe. Thanks. Average food. The lamb patty tasted like premade food, the patty with white dots in fact Burghul (cracked wheat) like cous cous, and is common ingredient for koftas which I didn't know prior thus I lost appetite immediately and even for a couple of days after thought it was suspicious fat (I apologize for my ignorance). I didn't like the Turkish bread either - unlike the traditional soft, tender and flavorful type which I expected, the one I had was very hard and bland. The highlight of this dish was the pickle which was right on the spot. And the waffle were dry and even hard to cut using the knife. The texture made it tasted like premade or made earlier and kept on the side for too long. Would expect a freshly made waffle to have a crust outside and soft inside. If this was truly not premade, might as well consider to improve the recipe or cooking method? Maybe ours was an outlier to your general standard.

We were disappointed especially as you've mentioned that you have very good ratings on Google map which set a high expectation.

I tried to take good photos no matter what if this makes you...

Great place for a morning coffee and cake. The service is really friendly and there's a cosy neighbourhood atmosphere. There's lots of small tables inside and outside undercover. It would be a lovely place to have an outdoor breakfast, there's lots of plants outside. Inside there's an eclectic vibe with the the walls decorated with vintage spoon collections and art works. They offer a wide range of cooked breakfasts and also cabinet foods along with cakes and muffins. I didn't get a chance to have a cooked breakfast this time but would come back to try out some dishes. I got a regular sized takeaway long black with a chocolate and caramel little cake that came in a very cute tiny cardboard loaf container. The cake was delicious, great texture and very moist, there is some syrup drizzled onto the cake to keep it tasting fresh and the frosting was pretty with caramel, choc crispies and pecans. Both together were $9.80 I would recommend this place for a relaxed breakfast date!
