I don’t like to right negative reviews but it unavoidable for this restaurant. The food was simple the most ordinary and mostly inedible. I asked what vegan and vegetarian options they had. I ordered a vegetable fried rice that was so bland and flavorless, even soy sauce couldn’t resserect it. I asked about vegan friendly sauces to go with some mixed vegetables and was told the curry and satay sauces were ‘almost probably ok’ OMG!!! In the end I was offered black bean sauce. It was mushy, smelt terrible and tasted sickly and off. Again another item that was inedible. There was no entree I could have. I asked if tofu could be added…. ‘No we don’t have tofu because it goes off’ SERIOUSLY 😳 My husband enjoyed the corn soup. The dim sims are premade and shop bought (not home made) and his special fried rice was awful and he tossed it after 2 mouthfuls. What a waste of money! We obviously wouldn’t recommend this restaurant. Even though we had takeaway, the entrance, foyer, curtains, walls etc are dirty and light switches are filthy and light shades covered in cobwebs. Bright has much better options than this place! The menus on their google listing is 3 years old so keep that...
Read moreI regret to express my extreme disappointment with my recent visit to Bright Chinese Restaurant. The quality of the food was far below even the lowest of expectations, and to exacerbate the matter, the portion sizes were astonishingly tiny. It's genuinely disheartening to anticipate a satisfying meal and be confronted with such paltry servings that left me feeling unsatisfied and let down.
To compound the negative experience, the customer service was equally subpar. The staff's lack of attentiveness and basic courtesy reflected poorly on the restaurant's professionalism. Adding insult to injury, the dishes lacked any hint of flavor or inspiration. The entire meal was a tasteless affair that failed to capture the essence of Chinese cuisine. Given the combination of inadequate food quality, meager portions, and disappointing customer service, it's with certainty that I declare my decision not to return to Bright...
Read moreI was a bit hesitant to get Chinese from this place due to the hit and miss reviews, but it was a Monday night in Bright so what were we to do.
I’m a coeliac and they had very few options - all meat is marinated prior so they weren’t able to accomodate me unless I chose prawns or vegetable dishes. But I was impressed that the guy I ordered from knew what I could and couldn’t have. I got prawns and vegetables in garlic and it was okay. Lots of prawns and the vegetables tasted fresh. We also got a vegetable fried rice which was kind of bland but cooked well. My fellow diners got honey prawns and they rated the batter on the prawns big time. Wasn’t too thick, and was really crispy. But the honey sauce was mega watered down to the point that it was like, well, water.
All in all though not an unpleasant experience and I’d order it again in the same...
