I visited Henry's this morning, and I am saddened to have to report the appalling atmosphere. I was there having breakfast with a friend i ordered scrambled eggs and bacon with toast. Well the lovely lady that served us was lovely, but the food was less desired. My toast was black and burnt, half a slice completly inedible. I told the lady she apologised, came back later and told me that she mentioned it to the cook, excuses were made from the back from the poor quality. I give credit where it's due, the eggs were lovely when not eaten with the over cooked toast. I really should have denied the meal and sent it back. Now it was not that busy and there was about 4 to 5 staff working the counters, our lady serving us stopped to speak with customers at a table, we could hear them chatting, was really not that busy. Then one of the staff in a hunch like position started smacking the table bell loudly and aggressively, this made everyone look up and turn, she then proceeded to yell at the lady near us "are you going to get back to work or talk all day" and then repeated the aggressive bell dinging. The lady near us looked mad but held her composure somewhat and told her to stop being so rude, which then led to a banter of words between the two, our lady tried to palm it of as somewhat good humour but the other lady was just down right rude. Really the whole episode was down right embarrassing and completely unprofessional. If this is how they run a buisness, id rather not go. Such a pity it used to be such a thriving place to go. I don't write many reviews like this it has to be a really negative experience for me to do it. But I don't recommend, until they have learnt to nuture a better culture that is warm ans welcoming but also inviting to stay also the staff need to be more of a harmonious team. We left soon after felt so awkward. I...
Read moreHenri's is no longer the Henri's I used to enjoy. The jumping family atmosphere has disappeared. Instead it's a cold uninviting money hungry business. We walked in, wanting to give it a another try after being taken over, and still no prices are displayed. We all need, in this current economic nightmare, to know how to spend our limited funds. Having to ask about prices in store is embarrassing, degrading and utterly unnecessary. Owner said he hasn't had time to put new prices on everything. It's been several months since our last visit and it's still not done. The customers' first reactions is that they can charge anything they want on a daily basis. Owner replied "I wouldn't do that". Maybe he wouldn't 🤷🏼♀️ but these days trust cannot be taken for granted. How long is a piece of string? You just don't know. The whole coffee ordering system needs a complete overhaul. We had to explain our order 3 times. The latte arrived with foam on top to a depth of half the length of a metal fork (no spoons available 🤷🏼♀️). Complained only to be told that's how a latte is made and that we should've ordered a black coffee with milk which he proceeded to make for us. It didn't matter that we wanted a latte! In the end we walked out leaving the coffee on the table .. almost untouched .. we each took a sip out of it. It was atrocious! Offering us free donuts doesn't cut it. Watching the staff and the owner coping with everything was painful. I have added a screenshot from Google to show that a full cream latte is NOT supposed to have froth almost taking up over a third of the cup. I would suggest obtaining trying in what all the different coffees consist of. We will not be...
Read moreI stopped in at Henris bakery this Arvo just before closing and had the absolute pleasure of meeting Hannah, the new owner! My kids with autism thought the rolls with cream and jam were the best thing since sliced bread (which they take pretty seriously) and I thoroughly enjoyed the cream fairy cakes and beesting. I haven't often been to henris in the past but I am looking forward to many more visits, especially if being served by her smiling face, she might have possibly been the nicest person ever! My kids were high energy, and she was unfazed, she even gave them some free smarties, so if you're looking for somewhere family friendly Henris is now my go to. Thanks Hannah for a lovely afternoon, Henris new ownership with a family friendly vibe is just what this town needs! It's not often I come across...
