Read moreAfter arriving on a Saturday night we were seated promptly at a clean table. We then went to the counter and ordered. Unfortunately this was when the negative experience started. Our food came at completely different times, by the time the last two people in our group received our meal the first person had already finished his. There was no acknowledgement or apology for the wait time. In addition, the food was average and some of the portions were small. One of the people in our group was still hungry and ordered a second main meal. This second meal also took a while, and when we asked the staff about the wait time and expressed that we were unhappy about it her response was "there are only two chefs in there mate, the foods not gonna come that fast." So instead of "I'm sorry we are understaffed tonight and that's why the food is taking a bit longer than usual," it's implied that we are at fault for being upset at the long wait. Because of all of this our experience overall was extremely unpleasant. I'm sure because of COVID there may be some issues with staffing, and we understand that, however I felt that the staff did not acknowledge or care about our experience dining there. Only reason I gave two stars was also because of COVID, I feel terrible for writing a negative review about a local business but I felt the service was unacceptable and I hope management will take this feedback on board so this does not happen with other diners.
**EDIT: thank you management for your apology, I wished the staff that served us said something similar, if so our experience would've definitely been better. The wait time is understandable given COVID but the waitress's...
Read moreWhat an absolute dissapointing experience. We (4 guests) decided to dine at Paper Scissors Rock after reading several good reviews. Our booking was scheduled at 6.30PM but decided to arrive 5 minutes earlier after reading some concering reviews about time limits.
We ordered the following
FOOD 1 x 12 Piece fried chicken 2 x Butter fried chicken burger 1 x Double beef burger
DRINKS 1 x Drinking platter 2 x Pint of pale ale 1 x Glass of Rose
We waited for our food to arrive, however we had to request for our entrees to be brought out as we waited for over 1 hour and 25 minutes. The food was average, drinks was decent. Spending over $100, you'd expect some form of customer service or atleast a follow up from staff to check in how our experience is going. We recieved our mains at close to 8.00PM after having to ask the staff TWICE about following up the food we ordered.
Overall, it was a dissapointing service, food was average and the entree (photo attached) was covered and dripping in oil. Restaurant was barely at half capacity. Don't bother wasting your time unless you have time to waste because you'll be sitting their awkwardly looking at the staff wondering what the chefs are doing in the kitchen.
PS.
"are facing unique challenges currently surrounding staffing limitations and a massive influx of visitors at this peak period."
Your venue was barely even half full...
Your table was informed of the wait times upon arrival,
No we did not. No mention of this prior to booking or arrival.
and we did check up on your group three times during your visit.
No your staff did not. I had to ask multiple times.
I also appreciate honest responses instead of...
