Public Cafe. — Restaurant in Victoria

This place is an absolute joke. I can't believe you have the nerve to call yourselves a cafe. There is no way that anyone can think that $23 is a suitable price for a meal with not even 2 eggs. Not to mention the cafe tastes worse than what you'd get after spending $1 at 7-11.

There is barely any room to fit 4 plates on a table for 4 people, how can we be expected to enjoy a brunch with friends when you're elbowing each other every 5 seconds!!! Maybe you shouldn't cram as many tables as possible into this tiny place and actually give the guests some room to breathe.

But usually when the food and venue is bad, the service makes up for it. Unfortunately, this is not the case. No one working here seems like they want to be here. It is common practice to check on your guests to see if they are enjoying their meal but again this is not the case. If someone had bothered to ask how the meal was I would have not had to resort to writing this scathing review.

Pull it together, find some standards and treat your guests with some respect. DO NOT...

Such a shame that a beautiful cafe located in the perfect place has such terrible staff. There's an older woman with Grey hair that works here and she is nothing short of awful. She greeted me with an attitude and it made me feel extremely unwanted in this space. I understand that I came in an hour before closing time but your business hours reflect that you are open for service. Thanks to her snappy attitude over the weekend all i ordered was a coffee, i felt as if ordering a late lunch or anything else was a hassle for the older woman. The barista working was sweet and lovely and the coffee was amazing but I'll never return to such an unwelcoming environment. Also confused as to why eggs on toast is $23 and you can get a Benedict bagel with bacon, eggs, spinach for $22 ? Whoever runs this business needs to go and study how to run a business.. also get staff that actually want to work. Most disappointing place...

Great muffins available, coffee however is a bit hit and miss and incisistent for this latte drunker to give a higher rating. And with more competition and experienced vendors and baristas coming to the green wedge, expectations are high... Eg. My latte was so hot that it took 15 mins before I could drink it and enjoy my muffin. Not great, cap wearing barista seemed rushed. Is ok, ppl will wait for great coffee and come back for more...im shopping...
