Read. I recently dined at this restaurant and was thoroughly disappointed. I ordered the Dal Spinach, Garlic Naan, and Fried Rice, expecting an Indian meal as described on the menu. However, what was served was far from what was promised. The Dal Spinach was not made with lentils as the menu stated; instead, it was a Palak gravy with Rajma (kidney beans). When I pointed out the discrepancy, the waiter claimed it was the chef's "definition" of lentils. Upon showing him the menu, which clearly mentioned "lentils" and not Rajma, he had no defense. This was not only misleading but outright dishonest. The Fried Rice was equally disappointing. Instead of the butter-sautéed rice with eggs, capsicum, tomatoes, and onions described in the menu, I received what was essentially biryani rice with capsicum, beans, and carrots. Eggs were missing entirely, and there were barely any tomatoes, if any at all. It felt like they were serving a completely different dish under the guise of "fried rice." When I raised these issues, the waiter offered to remove the rice from the bill. However, my complaint was not about the cost but about the misrepresentation of the dishes. To make matters worse, the waiter admitted that many non-Indian customers eat here without realizing the discrepancies, but as an Indian, I noticed immediately. This speaks volumes about their lack of respect for authenticity and their apparent attempt to take advantage of uninformed customers. This experience was a total letdown. Misleading customers with inaccurate menu descriptions is unacceptable, and such practices erode trust. Would not recommend. For reference I have added images from their website for the said dishes (it doesn't have a visible disclaimer for images so they're indirectly claiming true representation) - also FYI Red Lentil is not Rajma. Response: I definitely leave a positive review after multiple visits - and you have conveniently addressed everything but the behaviour of your staff? And you conveniently trying to put an allegations by saying that I started taking photos before tasting? I am pretty sure Mr. Khan - that you have reviewed the cameras and records to remember what I ate previously - as you were not present during my last visit. You make sure, you also review the staff interaction if your camera have captured the audio. Re: the mixed lentils - no where it is mentioned and just look the image presentation on your website.

we visit khan curry hut once every 2 weeks and have been doing so for the last couple of months. i cannot fault the service at all. immediately from my first visit i felt so extremely welcomed and appreciated. the quality of their wait staff is truly outstanding, their attention to detail and their eagerness to create experiences for their customers is truly so special and rare. each time we visit, i always find myself ordering the same thing. they have always been consistent, and eager to introduce us to new things. their recommendations have never disappointed. as we visit so often, we will always order entree and with our entree it comes with a side salad. we always bicker over who is going to get the cucumber in the side salad when we started to realise they slowly stopped putting cucumber in their side salads. we jokingly expressed how we noticed there was no cucumber anymore to the owner. we had a little giggle and didn’t expect anything else from our little chat. when we returned again (a week later hehe), the lovely owner brought our entree over with cucumbers on the side for me! i cannot express how grateful i was, but also how kind this gesture was. we cannot recommend this little gem enough! thank you for having us! we look forward to seeing you again in 2 weeks hehe

It has been several years since we have been here and we are so disappointed in ourselves for taking so long to come back. The service was spot on, the took a real effort to help us and were very friendly, the followed the current covid protocols and made sure we were seated exactly far enough from the next table. The food was spectacular, my wife loves her butter chicken, despite my efforts every time we go out to any indian restaurant in Victoria, she will only ever order butter chicken. Well, according to her, this place has the best butter chicken she has ever had. I of course tried it and yes it was very good, although, obviously I can't compare it to other places. My dishes were all lovely as well. It's been over a week since we went there and I'm only getting around to posting this now. But as I type this and look at these photos of the meal we had that night, I can tell you I now feel like going back there today. Highly recommended!!!

I went to your restaurant on Wednesday on the afternoon of Eid though I left hungry coz of rude behaviour of your staff. I was seated at 12:32 and was kept waiting nearly 10 minutes before someone thought to come and take my order. There were 2 woman stood at the counter. After I was finally able to order my meal I then was left waiting until 1pm and still hadn't received it and my 30 minute lunch break should have been over. During my time in this establishment thus far, a man had come in, been seated, ordered and served his meal just behind me and I was still waiting. I went to the counter to politely ask that my meal be put in a takeaway because they have taken too long, and the woman who I had asked this of was unbelievably foul mouthed and extremely rude and eventually told me that I had to wait until my meal was served at the table and that I put it in takeaway containers myself. Coz of covid 19. Though my food was not even served???really ??? I asked that’s fine you can serve it on table. Where in 2nd lady on counter came to my seat to help me out and apologised to me. But I was in tears already by then and thought to leave. about the 1st woman does not belong in the hospitality industry at all. I was so insulted and intimidated by the attitude and behaviour of the staff here, that I left the restaurant in tears. I always loved being at khan curry hut but your some staff members are absolutely horrible to deal with and need to be re-educated when it comes to their jobs as they provide no hospitality whatsoever. If they don't improve, they should be fired. The food is not good enough to make up for the absolute rudeness and complete disrespect you will receive from...
