I have visited the store in Geelong, on Gheringhap st, on multiple occasions. I have a few concerns about your management.
The staff in the store, I have no complaints about. They are friendly, open for a conversation, and even gave me helpful suggestions for flavour combos and dietary options for my lactose-intollerant friends.
Here are my concerns: How are the customers, let alone the STAFF MEMBERS, meant to work in such an environment?! There is no air conditioning in that store, no ceiling fans, and hardly any air flow, even with the windows open to the street. From what they explained to me, they aren't allowed cold water from the fridge, and they have to PAY to make themselves a cold drink/ smoothie, too. The poor staff members! What would you do if they collapsed in your store?! And, being how young some of them are, I doubt they would have first aid training. I've had mould in my sorbet before, which I disregarded at first, thinking it couldn't happen again. Twice now, I've had black spots in my sorbet / ice cream. Clearly there is mould in your fridges and display cabinets which needs to be removed. If it happens again, I will call the health inspectors. Not to mention the flies and bugs, too. Also in the display cases. I have yet to see the store manager in store, and I've been in at different times, on different days. Do they even work there? Each time I've asked if they're in, the answer has been "no." I brought in cash, and was given only coins in change. From a $20 note. For one cup, tonight. They had no notes to give. I had to quickly use the bathroom one day, and noticed as I was walking out that there is no staff room. No space for a break. Do your staff get breaks? If so, where are they taking them? Why is there no space dedicated to the staff (tables, chairs, etc)? That just seems unfair to expect them to either work through the breaks, or travel outside the store. Especially after 4pm, when the cafes and small stores are all closed within that area.
I am still a loyal customer, and will continue to be, because your sorbet is the best around and, despite what they have to work through, your staff are always cheery and put customers first. However, I don't know how you expect your workers to continue to work in that environment. I am concerned for their safety and wellbeing. Because they are all such great people and I'd hate to see or hear anything happen to them.
Feel free to get in touch if you'd like...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy boyfriend brought me here (multiple times) while I was visiting from Canada! We happened to pop in once after dinner close by and ended up getting hooked, it became a dessert tradition for us š„²
I have a dairy allergy and luckily there is a massive selection of plant based gelato to choose from! The plant-based chocolate brownie is my favourite, and the mango is pretty good too!
Bf who can have dairy enjoyed the mint choc, baci, kinder, and boysenberry.
Two scoops gets you a LOT of gelato, donāt let the tiny cups fool you!! We were both delighted and shocked by the portion size 𤣠(I think itās the perfect amount, though!)
We had gelato in the cups in store once and did takeout twice and didnāt experience any melting on the way home, their takeout containers are great if you live in the area!!
Staff are super friendly and accommodating, and very patient!! Prices are completely reasonable for what you get.
When I return to Geelong, I hope to continue our gelato tradition! I miss it...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBefore me, there lay but the hollowed remnants of what once was a most glorious repast, a veritable bounty of sweetness and life. The bowl, once brimming with vibrant hues of deep purple, now stood empty save for the slightest trace of its former gloryālittle dabs of rich, dark acai clinging to the sides like the last whispers of a cherished memory. Beneath the remnants of the fruit's regal presence, the delicate crunch of granola had long since disappeared, its crispness now but a faint echo in the air. The scattered fruitsāplump strawberries, blueberries like drops of morning dew, and the luscious slice of bananaāhad vanished, swallowed whole in eager delight. Even the honey, which had drizzled like liquid gold, now merely a faint glimmer of sweetness upon the edge of the dish. What a feast it was, now reduced to naught but the faintest echo of indulgence, a bowl thoroughly devoured to the very last spoonful, leaving behind only the lingering satisfaction of a hunger most...
