Food Taste: mediocre, nothing special but not the worst, garlic naan was confusing as it felt more like a pita with barely garlic powder seasoning on it
Food Portion: small and the server advised the rice was enough for two people, however was not enough for my partner. Butter Chicken and Butter Paneer was a few chunks of meat/paneer/veggies swimming in a pool of sauce, if we were appropriately advised of serving sizes it would have been less disappointing as the table needed to be cleared by a certain time and couldn’t have ordered more.
Overall: overpriced food
Service: friendly manager/owner, bit too nice, wouldn’t let my partner pour his own water. I understand some people may like to be checked on whilst they eat, however we were checked on 3 times within a 45 minutes time frame. Please let us eat, if we need to return the table within 60 minutes let us focus on eating and enjoy our dinner.
Atmosphere: we came before it was busy for the night, they were still setting tables so did not see it’s at its busiest. Music choice was good, place smelled very strong but did not linger on clothes. I personally would have liked a little more lighting as it was a bit dark, however if that’s what’s preferred for your dates I...

The owner was very welcoming, and you could clearly tell he is passionate about his work. He greeted every customer that walked in for take aways, while interacting with patrons dinning in. Even on a busy Sunday night, he made sure everyone was made to feel welcomed.
The restaurant in its esthetics is quite simple, adds to the charm of the place.
We ordered some Onion spinach bhaji, Murg curry, Dal Makhani, Keema Naan, garlic, butter Naan and Pistachio ice cream to finish off the delicious Indian food. The breads were hot and fresh, you could just eat the breads by itself. Chicken and Lentils curry were just as fresh and delicious. We went in a food coma after.
The Icecream or Kulfi (pistachio) was a perfect way to finish a fine meal.
Would I come back here? Yes for sure. Not just for the food but also to say G'day to the owner who made us feel very comfortable at his warm restaurant.
If you are in Woodend next, i highly recommend this place. They are open till late, and with quite an extensive menu it...
