Visited on a few occasions, from grabbing a quick drink to enjoying a meal. Quaint little cafe, complete with wood fire, hardwood floors and an inner city meets country charm. The meals on offer are diverse and are immaculately presented. On separate visits I've enjoyed the open steak sandwich and their big breakfast, both leaving me well satisfied. The staff are warm and genuinely friendly, doing their best to make everyone feel like they are getting personal treatment.
That said, on a recent visit the staff were run off their feet with what seemed to be a large group at one table, the rest also full and the waitress admitting and apologising that they were understaffed 2 staff that day. Service was accordingly slow, and my partner's meal was partly cold by the time it arrived. I feel this was a blip on their otherwise impeccable service, however as it stands my recommendation is definitely to visit, but only if it's not busy.
Edit: In the time since my original review the quality has sadly declined to the point I would no longer recommend this venue. The charm is still there but the meals are mixed in quality, extended waits are common and the passion just seems to...

📍The Brewer's Table, Seymour
You will NOT regret visitng @thebrewerstable in Seymour
Definitely not one of those Instagrammable cafes. But as someone who's tired of gimmicky cafes in the city, it's almost refreshing to see a cafe just excelling at nailing basic cafe fundamentals - great food, friendly service, and clean dining space.
Their Big Breakfast was super wholesome. For under $20, we got freshly grilled gourmet bacons & Scotty's sausages, roasted tomatoes, poached eggs and more! Enough to share between 2 people. It was simple and yet, delicious.
Not to mention, top-tier service! Initially, "poached eggs" came out completely cooked. I'm not a fussy eater so I was just going to eat them but one of the waiting staff (wish I got her name!) noticed, and just immediately grabbed us 2 extra freshly poached eggs. I was touched. You don't get to see such service nowadays. #melbfoodiemark...
Read moreWent for brunch and it was average. Average flavours and quality and experience. The waiter was a bit patronising when I asked if something was been cooked up in the kitchen, because there was a lovely smell. ‘I hope something is cooking because it is a cafe…’. I thought there might have been a special being prepared or something being made for lunch that we could have but okay. We were seated near the bathrooms, so I needed to keep getting up and closing the door so the smell of toilet didn’t hit me at the table. We ordered bacon and eggs and they were okay, but similar to what I could make at home. The bread may have been sourdough but it was just a normal loaf, nothing special or unique. It could have just been sunicrust from the shape, texture and size. Coffee was average too, I only drank...
