Nestled amidst the enchanting morning serenity of Bendigo, our impromptu journey to The Boardwalk Restaurant unfurled into a delightful escapade of culinary discovery and tranquil ambience. Venturing forth from our haven at the hotel, curiosity tugged us towards the promise of breakfast bliss. The allure of The Boardwalk, unknown to us until then, blossomed into a sweet revelation.
Guided by the bustling rhythm of the streets, we found ourselves drawn to the grandeur of Lake Weeroona, a beacon of tranquillity heralding our destination. Towering poles adorned with fluttering flags whispered tales of the lake's allure, setting the stage for an unforgettable experience.
Stepping through the threshold, we were enveloped in a tapestry of nostalgia and elegance. A whimsical display of vintage suitcases and hat boxes teased memories of bygone eras, while verdant foliage danced in harmony with the sunlight streaming through expansive windows.
As we settled into our lakeside sanctuary, the effervescent Morgan greeted us with warmth and charm, setting the tone for a morning of indulgence. Our orders, a symphony of flavours ranging from the hearty full breakfast to the tantalising Spanish pulled pork, promised a culinary odyssey fit for epicurean adventurers.
Yet, nature's whims intervened, as a squadron of determined wasps laid claim to our al fresco haven. With grace and efficiency, Morgan orchestrated our retreat to the sanctuary of indoor bliss, where we revelled in the culinary delights unencumbered by airborne interlopers.
Amidst verdant foliage and the gentle hum of contented diners, we savoured each morsel with gratitude, our senses entwined in a symphony of flavours and ambience. Morgan's attentive service, complemented by the camaraderie of Sam and Andy, elevated our experience to a crescendo of hospitality and joy. In the verdant embrace of The Boardwalk, Bendigo revealed itself as a haven for gastronomic adventurers and nature enthusiasts alike. With hearts full and palates sated, we bid farewell to our newfound sanctuary, knowing that its allure will beckon us once more.
To The Boardwalk Bendigo, we extend our heartfelt gratitude and commendation. May your culinary mastery and warm hospitality continue to shine, casting a luminous glow upon Bendigo and Victoria alike. Cheers to The Boardwalk, a gem nestled amidst the heart of Bendigo's...
Read moreWhat a utter disappointment deciding to have breakfast with four friends at The Boardwalk turned out to be. It all began with our request for skinny lattes. We were told by the waiter that low fat milk was not an option. Full cream was the only option other than soy, almond milk etc. We were then advised that the fat content in a mug size serving was the same as skinny anyway. What this person failed to understand was that our choice was based purely on the taste difference and had absolutley nothing to do with fat content! We were then given a choice of a cup or mug. We all chose mugs to make things simple when ordering. To our surprise we later found out when looking over the final bill that this choice was $1.50 more expensive than a cup. Overlooking this minor issue we moved onto ordering our meals. After ordering a full breakfast dish minus the baked beans our ever delightful waiter advised that there were to be no changes to the menu items whatsoever & the baked beans came out in a ramekin dish anyway. With this knowledge we thought that this would make it easier to exclude the baked beans. How wrong we were when the stern reply from our waiter was again "there will be no changes to the menu". The more expensive coffee in a mug was bitter & quite frankly awful. So much so that when we requested a hot chocolate in replacement of the full mug of coffee sitting untouched on the table there was not even a question as to why the coffee was untouched let alone be provided a hot chocolate at no charge as a replacement. Surprisingly we were given the option to split the bill and make seperate payments from our table such an impressive tjings coming from an establishment unable to remove baked beans from an order The entire experience at The Boardwalk was unsatisfactory. Disappointing for a restaurant placed in an idyllic location to be marred with hideous customer service and overly priced meals. The high price sting could have be overlooked was it not for the attitude of staff. Perhaps some time spent investing in waiting staff that understand the importance of customer sevice skills would increase the number of customers returning to your establishment for a second meal. Do not...
Read moreService was very poor from the start, we walked in off the street no booking and the place wasn't full of customers and there were many empty tables. We wanted a table for 2 in the sun overlooking the water. Which was a reasonable request, however the rude staff member went on to say, "Sorry those tables are for four people only" and we said "There is no one at these tables at the moment and they are not reserved". His reply was" Sorry these are the tables we have available only. So we sat on one of the tables, not in the sun as we requested. Ordered our coffee which arrived in a fairly timely manner, however both our coffees were COLD or Luke Warm at best. Meanwhile three tables in front of us remained empty at this stage. When the young waiter approached us to take our food order. We advised that the coffee was cold and he said " Sorry about that" ??? We ordered our food which was below average in taste and quality. They both looked cosmetically great on plates but lacked taste.. We finished our meals, seasoned with whatever was on the table to add some taste. The three tables in front of us remained empty the whole time we were there. Very disappointing to say the least. We had waiters that we over waiting and it felt like smoking mirrors. The café presented well but delivery was very poor, customer service was speedy, mostly friendly, but the simple request to sit in the sun and enjoy breakfast was not available. The café seemed like it was trying to deliver 5 star quality but failed in simple customer service, looking after your customers that walk into your café should be more important than trying to hold tables for ghost customers that never arrived. We were there, paying customers. I felt like we were on a timer to eat and leave, we had the waiters, three different ones visit us about 5-6 times asking if we wanted anything else. Overall it was a disappointing experience and wish you...
